By now all clubs should have had the Chewton Tournament flyer and entry form posted in their clubrooms. The tournament is on March 4th and is open to all Clubs , for the first time. We have a definite cap on the numbers and will process entries in received order and close them off if/when we are filled up.
It would greatly assist if club administrators could get entries (and payment) together and post to me ASAP. With a couple of eventful weekends before then, we would hate to disappoint if clubs are late.

Thanks Peter

Peter - would there be any chance of a bit of a field shoot in the morning, if TJ and I were to ask very, very nicely?!?!

Fine....perhaps the next QRE?

Good support from DVA as per usual and entries are coming in from some clubs and individuals. I'll follow up Clubs after the State.

Yep - aiming to be at that one :) Will it be a similar format ie seniors shoot in the arvo?

No....as it is a full FITA we need to start in the morning, just as you do at DVA. We usually have registrations from 0900, practice 0930 and start 1000 sharp.

Does this mean the Chewton Tournament has changed format?

Does this mean the Chewton Tournament has changed format?

Yes. As my initial post in this thread and the letter to Presidents I mailed out indicated, the format has changed from a very longstanding Country Club Tournament to an open AV calendar event.
The only other change is that we have moved from a Metric American (origins historical ???) to the more standard Canberra and versions thereof, although we did that a year or two ago.

Everything else about the event, including the focus on Junior Rounds, relaxed style and friendly shoot all remain the same.

As this is my first time at this tornament, what is the starting time for seniors???:silly:

So long as any seniors get the first pick of the shade and Chewton turns down the thermostat for the afternoon.... not too much though.... It will be a great day.

As per the flyer, the Juniors shoot in the morning, and Seniors at 1 pm. We open up the field course for accompanying adults in the morning (a some-time-ago Yarra/DVA initiated request and service).

I have suddenly twigged to what this might mean. My reference to a full FITA was in answer to Hannah's query about the next QRE rather than anything to do with the Tournament Sunday week.

Thanks for that Peter you had me worried.

As predicted, we are flush with seniors and will have to close off entries in the next day, but have plenty of room for juniors. Last call for juniors (and those seniors who have "indicated" attendance and not put in an entry form).

Full house with seniors (although one cancellation already) so no more senior entries...juniors only accepted now.
Big working bee today (so missed the coaching seminar) and we are looking forward to a great day.
