I thought they were going to cover the shootoffs?
As usual, it's all crap.
Anybody found anything on the net?

AT say this every year and every year they blow it.
Our coverage of the Olympics and world targets have been better.

1000% better.
I wish the NFAA would do something on the net. It would get heaps of hits.

Yep they have a brilliant product which they fail to utilize. No wonder archery gets no TV coverage.

Why does it matter , somebody like him most likely could cut a branch from a tree and still whop everybody , I don't think the bow type makes that much difference

But if the tree is constantly put down by the unbelievers then shouldn't the tree be acknowledged when it has won one of the premier archery events several years in a row.....Long live that branch and the Mojo it brings forth. (not fourth Paul ;) )

I'd recon somebody of his skill level could probably still give us all a whippin with even a "Fred Bear sparrow hawk"
I really don't think what sort of bow it is he shoots , I am sure he has the skills to get the best out of what ever bow he shot

he may for all purposes be able to get the BEST out of it. but some bows best just isnt very good at all.

yeah he would drop points all over with a sparrow hawk.
Look he would win with any top range high quality bow, however it is an equipment based sport, and if we want bow companies to spend money in advertising and on top shooters then we should encourage equipment competition at shoots and not fob it off.
If target wins did not drive sales then bow companies wouldn't bother producing target bows.

My experience is that some bows are easier to shoot than others, and that it is worth being a bit picky when it come to selecting one.
I can certainly think of quite a few bows that I would not select - on the basis that I would not score as high with them as I might with others.
Similarly, there is a (much) smaller number from which I would select, and I suspect would all enable me to score about the same.
As Marcus noted, it is to our advantage that the manufacturers like getting pictures of the winner holding his bow, so we should not discourage it, or downplay it.

Of course, one of use should try shooting an indoor round with a Sparrowhawk just to better ascertain what the difference really is.
Have you got one Marcus?

no he doesn't but there is a guy at DVA who does, hannah used to shoot one. its back wall is very squishy, like a rubber band, plastric cams and limb pockets, the best she ever shot indoors was 250ish, when she borrowed erika's ultratec she started scoring 260 and then 270 the week after.

I don't want them spending money on advertising and top shooters. I would rather they sell their bows cheaper!!!
I'm not sure that target wins drive enough sales for manufacturers. They sell about 90% hunting bows and only a few target ones. Hunting is where it's at and I for one am quite happy about that.

What I'm saying Brad is that tournament wins drive hunting bow sales. That is why when you open a Mathews or Hoyt advert they push their wins on the pro scene, American hunters love that stuff.
They have to advertise somehow and it is all part of the bigger package. You would find that if they dropped their sponsored archers the bows would drop by about $1 per bow, so from the extra sales they would make it isn't worth dropping the price by $1 and all that advertising and marketing.

Jim, I haven't shot a full round with a Sparrow-Hawk (couldn't put myself through that much pain :D )...but I have shot one indoors.
With my bow, I can shoot 300 Vegas rounds...and consistently score in the high 290's.
With the sparrow hawk, I had trouble keeping the arrows out of the 6's and 7's...
It really is nasty.

I suppose that what I am getting at is similar to what James was Saying , that he could have won with any one of a dozen bows from all the manufacturers !
All this he shoots this and they shoot that worries me , you need to shoot a bow that
1 you enjoy shooting
2 suits you
3 Suits your needs
4 you can afford
Hence , my reasoning on swithching to Martins for a finger bow , The Razor X elite suits my requirements perfectly Whilst my two ultraelites suit my needs for a sighted bow

My point in posting this was to indicate that for the last couple of years PSE has been making top shelf accurate bows and that many users of this forum take great pleasure in poo-pooing the brand......well on behalf of Chance, Eric and all the pro-team of PSE :p

Of course he could have won with a number of different bow from the leading manufacturers, but one still needs to be careful to choose a quality bow well suited to your particular application.
I certainly don't believe he could have won with any bow ;)
...and yes - despite PSE''s blister packaging and Wal-Mart stance these days, they still seem to make a few decent bows ;)

The shootoff was fantastic to watch, I was about ten yards down the line off to the left hand side of the archers. We managed to capture Chance' winning shot in a small sequence on the Camera, will post when home.
This is the 3rd time Chance has won the shoot in the last 5 Vegas Events.
