That's ABA 3D. Little different to the 3D you read about on here.

And believe it or not a lot harder than 3D AAA(IBO). Possible score 400 (20 targets) with the same scoring zones as the ABA paper round.

Just to answer an earlier question
Last year at the ABA Nats,
3DAAA Archer Les Gasparovski at his frst ABA tounament (he went there for the IFAA practice) shot a perfect 400
It was a very good round

I think grown men hunting rubber cows in the bush is rather funny in it's own right... but shooting 3D in Victoria was no fun. People seem to have trouble setting out accurate courses and then get stroppy when it's pointed out.
I can judge distances well and I hit what I'm aiming at, but I have no intention of participating in 3D until they learn to set their pegs at legal distances.
I don't enjoy missing the target either and I'm baffled that anyone would think I should.
Glad to see you're having fun James. :)

Strange comment, but I can see your point. It has been a while since I shot a 3D but from memory ABA 3D is anything out to 48 meters and 3D AAA anything out to 45 meters depending on what division you shoot in. The variables are very small when shooting in the sighted divisions. One other point to remember is that it is ultimately 3D was designed to similate hunting.

i have to say i do enjoy the challenge of guestimating, estimating and then calculating how far that ruber cow is from the peg i am standing on.
i think thats why i would enjoy unmarked field.

unmarked FITA field is really nothing like 3D. If you go in trying to guess the distance you will lose. It's really all about guaging and how good and how practised your system is. I like FITA unmarked alot.

That may be the case, but I don't think it's relevant anymore.
3D has evolved into a target game. Sure, lots of hunters love to shoot 3D, but lots of non-hunters love to shoot 3D too ;)
For it to be treated as the excellent sport that it is, the rules need to be adhered to, and I think it's important that course setters are very careful to ensure that pegs are within the legal distances (all pegs), and that targets are visible from the peg for all (short and tall) archers.
I think that's the point.
