3DAAA has a game that can be played anywhere. I think that it could be helpful if we could accumulate some hints/guidelines for clubs running events outside their club grounds.

Some general stuff exists but it doesn't address the particular problems of archery.

If we can get some stuff together maybe we can end up with some sort of "how to" manual".

In Victoria we have a number of events that don't have camping facilities. Some type of approach to accommodation suppliers ie Hotels, Motels and camping grounds might be useful.

Do you need food safety plans to sell food. What insurance papers do you need to get councils to give you access to grounds.

etc etc

thoughts guys?

One small thing that I do on behalf of my club is, because we can only run a FITA Field event a few times a year, on ground owned by the State Government, and some areas can be seen from a busy road very near to a major urban centre, I write to the Police local commander to advise what we are doing so that if anyone phones in to report our actions they are aware of what is going on, and how controlled it is.

Just reviving this.

The MRA shoot is showing what an impact a shoot can have with accomodation and dinner bookings.

I know Twin City has had positive responses from their council because of the business that their shoots bring to the community.

Letting councils know that archery can be a part of their tourism strategy may open some doors in terms of grounds and other forms of assistance.

We went astep further and invited them to our shoot AND had them shooting (the GM was a fair shot for a newb) local funding became a whole easier after that one ;)
