My partner and I have bought junior compound bows for the two boys. They are practising their technique and enjoying "getteng it right".
Already they are talking about their hunts in the future.
With any luck they will get as much fun and excitement from their bow hunting as I have from mine.

awesome, i wish my family had the same sort of interests :)
also on the topic of 'future' hunts, as i m unfamiliar with the laws regarding to bowhunting in NZ, you'll have to make sure they are 'legal' before they try anything too soon :)
always safe, never sorry :thumb:

My good hunting mate and I took our young sons out a few months back for a hunt. It was a magnificent time in the bush with our sons.
Some pics from the hunt.
The mob from which Paul's two billies were eventually taken (note the small huddle of Paul and the two boys above the mob about 50m's)

Yeah, I am just getting them to practice their technique, and they know that they have to become safe and proficient at targets long before they stroll into the bush with me.
Going to take them on hunts though, just so they can get into tracking, and learning how to stalk and use the wind and terrain to their advantage.
I am a firm believer that a tough day in the bush is miles better than a good day at home.
Cool pics too of the young uns in the wopwops...cheers for sharing.
