i am having a string problem and was wondering if i can get some help.i have a darton rampage which i use for 3-D. its set at 63# @ 31.5". a friend made me a set of S4 12 strand cables & string and notice more noise & shock. would that be from the material (all he had) or the no. of strands. and if strands how many. any help is appreciated.

NT,

S4 has very little "give" (almost like a steel cable) and that's why you're noticing more shock. It has been around for some time and has the reputation of almost zero stretch. There are more modern materials around now that are not as coarse so I would suggest you try some of the newer ones which have a slight amount of "give" and will make for a "softer" yet crisp shot eg. BCY 8125 (my favourite), BCY 452 and Ultracam just to name a few.
