I do wish SBS would get their act together on this program. They introduced tonights show as a "new series" but then showed the supercar special. As we have just watched series 7, and the BBC screened the Winter Olympics special at the end of series 7, not the supercars, although that was a good special, but, with the Veyron episode only screening two weeks ago, bad choice.

New Zealand has already screened series 8, according to a member on this forum, so why cannot that be shown?

The pommies are presently watching series 9! :(

This would have to be one of the most popular programs on SBS, they even have an active forum running for it at http://topgear.sbs.com.au/Default.aspx for fellow hooked Top Gear viewers like myself

The next two episodes listed on the SBS web site are also compilation repeats of previous presentations, which I admit are very well worth watching again.

But where is series 8?

OK. I have vented enough.

I hope that SBS show the Winter Olympic special soon. The ice hockey with Suzuki Swifts is a classic, as is the ski jump with a Mini.

Wait until you get to see the episode in which they try to find out whether it's practical to buy a cheap car in the US when on holiday rather than hiring one. They learn that driving through the south with certain slogans daubed on your car (e.g. "Hillary for President") doesn't make you popular with the locals :D

Seen it, John. Son downloaded it.

"Man love rules" and "NASCAR sucks" did not go down very well either in the deep south. Fabulous episode. :thumb:

Haven't seen season 9 yet, but the best episode I've seen for a while was the one where they go on a caravan trip to see why people do it, and it's just a complete disaster. Haven't laughed so hard in ages.
I think it's in season 8, so I guess most of you haven't seen it yet?

I hope that SBS show the Winter Olympic special soon. The ice hockey with Suzuki Swifts is a classic, as is the ski jump with a Mini.

A friend gave that to me... it should be lurking around on a CD somewhere, but I haven't seen it in a while. It was gold anyway.

I meant to post an advisory note that series 8 starts on SBS TV (Aus) tonight, but forgot. :(

I can now advise that Series 8 began on SBS TV tonight at 7:30 pm, and will continue on Monday nights. :thumb:

Oh well, only 4 months behind NZ.

Copied from another thread as posted yesterday:

new series 9th jan, and sbs has bought rights to host an aust version of top gear but also plans to keep showing series 9 and 10.

The "new series" on SBS will be series 9, and episode 3 is the fabled US road trip. So this will bring Oz up to only 11 months behind the original screenings on BBC2. :(

Meanwhile there is only one episode to go in series 10 in England. :munch:

We might get to see that on SBS by about November next at this rate.

However, internet download is fantastic, and I am right up to date. :D
