So what do people see as the greatest matches they have watched in archery?
Obviously some of these will be personal ones because they came down to you vs someone else.
Here are mine

1) Cuddihy vs Yamamoto: Athens.
Awesome to watch. The old guy vs the young guy. And to come down to a tie breaker. Fantastic.

2) Freeman vs Cousins: New York
Another tie breaker. Freeman was never suppose to shoot that year and beat out Cousins on his own turf.

3) King vs Currall: 2005 Nationals
Took 4 tie breaker arrows to seperate these 2. Amazing to watch.

4) Anear vs Weston: 2005 Nationals
Erika won the target, Kellie the field, and then they went arrow for arrow in windy conditions in the finals of the matchplay. Kellie won on the last end.

5) Barnes vs Cuddihy: New York
The bronze medal match with Australia's 2 young talents going head to head for a placing.

Again, these are the standouts in my head. How about others. I am sure guys like Clint and Jim have seen some incredible matches.

Nicole Bartlett in the semi-final of the World Field in 1996: arrow on the wrong face and still won (on the last arrow).

Knock-out final at Las Vegas, 2006 (and year, probably, but 2006 was the one I attended).

Having said in another thread recently that field's quite hard to spectatorise:

Barrs vs Frangilli, Akita World Games 2001:
Jay was 3 points up going into the final target, which was a 60m downhill. We were all saying how he only needed 4's because "nobody, not even Michele, is going to shoot a 15 on that beast". Michele promptly shoots a 15 (with a couple of X's to boot) - luckily for him, Jay didn't listen to us, and shot 4-5-4 to win by a single point.

For me, the Clint Freeman / Dave Cousins for the gold @ the '03 worlds.
Beating Cousins on home soil when Clint probably wasn't even talked about made it a satisfying win for Clint.
Cousins & all his release aid & arrow twirling ? humph ! Damn good archer though !
It is available on DVD www.TheArcher.com Believe me, worth the $ !
Womens Individual & Teams avail too. Mary Zorn (gold) the ice maiden is so cool.

4th Dog and Cabe Johnson shooting off for 2nd at the WFAC 06 was entertaining to watch. After watching 4thdog scull 2 cans of Bundy Rum 5 mins before hand then go slap them in the middle @ 70 yrds to take the win.......what a ELITE Athelete

If I remember correctly Cabe shot a 3 in that shoot off. The pressure must have got to him.

damn good mascot for bundy rum, if i say so myself.

dont think putting a pink sock in the bath when 4thdog is bathing would work the same as it did for the bear.

then again old dog might like it.
