How does the target archery circuit in NZ compare with that in OZ?
( not interested in the bowhunter brigade that get a buzz out of shooting a sheep at ten paces and boasting about it to their mates.
"I wouldn't have shot it but it was coming right for me, and you know how crazy those NZ sheep can be"

...............................................

is their much less interest?

does it closes down in winter?
is the weather very prohibitive?

are the clubs smaller?

has anyone lived in both counties and has first hand experience particularly in the south island / Queenstown area?

AA has a vast number more membes than ANZ does, but there is still a regular bunch of FITA Stars put on around the country, that most of the top guys go to regularly.

I am interested in shooting 'target' in the South Island.

Are Christchurch and Dunedin the most active clubs there?
Pity there isn't one in Queenstown, may have to do something about that, or Arrowtown.....what a great name/place for an archery club

ARROWTOWN ARCHERY

c'mon you Kiwi target competition archers
give me some feedback

Who wants to start a club in Arrowtown?

Sitting at Auckland airport waiting to fly back to AUS watching daytime TV (i.e. on the only watch if desperate list) and a question posed, still to be answered, was "What is the most dangerous sport in NZ?"

Scarily the 'very intellectual' panel came up with "standing in front of a shotgun target, archery, or javelin catching", in that order. To get the real answer I forgot to note if I have to sit in Q club for another day or another week ...

The Wizard of Christchurch was much loved. Can't say for sure what happened to him though :D
Maybe he fell vicitm to a tragic wand cleaning accident.

I am will find out how our clubs are when I join Riverglade Archers this weekend.

you don't get it 2dogs

new zealanders can't see wizards
the place is hotching with me and my buddies
we cast a spell on them so when they look at a wizard they see a sheep
a particularly ugly sheep if you get my drift.

I could make you look like a sheep 2dogs
a big fat good looking Queensland one
then introcuce you to some of my new Kiwi bowhunter friends

can you play the banjo 2dogs?

I was thinking dope rather than gorse, but no doubt it'll end up being a bit of both ;-)
