I have just completed the latest revision of Accurate Sights. It now includes gauging, which I added at Leigh Cornish's request (working furiously in the week prior to the Nationals to get it done in time). It covers the technique for gauging as used by Leigh and me at the Nationals.
For those who have already purchased a copy I am happy to provide a free update (normally I have been charging 50% for updates). Reason: I would like some feedback on what you think of the additions.
If you send me your email address and where you purchased your copy, I will send you the .exe file by email. It is about 300 kbytes when zipped, so it is not too onerous to download.
My email address is james.park@siemens.com.au

Thanks for that file James the file worked not a problem, I'll be spending the next few days playing around with it and fully test out real world conditions with it as I have an ABA shoot at Lilydale on sunday. Will send you a full shakedown sunday night

Anyone who can get a copy of this is going to love the newest addition. I used the gauging software at a field today and found it to be faultless ! This thing actually works and I highly reccomend it !

Jim ,
Have you thought about ding a version for the palm os ?

Might be a handy item .

Bruce,
I have thought a little about doing something for the Palm OS. Problem is that Accurate Sights is all done in Visual Basic (well over 100 pages of code), and I cannot use VB on the Palm.
Marianne Reickmann wrote Target Plot using C for the Palm, and I would probably need to do that to do it properly. Marianne and I have spoken about possibly doing something together (integrating a version of Target Plot with a subset of Accurate Sights).
Jeff McKenzie from Scotland has put one of my early Excel versions of Accurate Sights on his Palm (he showed it to me at the Nationals) - it worked just fine, but was only giving a listing of the sight settings and not all the other functions.
That is about as far as I have gone at present.

Archers Advantage has palm pilot software which has the site setting program and a score form for plotting arrows and keeps score of rounds, it's quite a good program but fairly expensive ! Sorry to mention a rival software product James ! :)

Sven
Sorry, where to download for a trial?
The archers of Europe would also like a good software for that purpose.

PLEASE, a link or URL to:
sven@compoundbow.de

Thanks,

Sven

perhaps you should develop some time dependant trial version, one that stops working after 14 days or something (don't know if you can though) to send to him -- big market over there!

Hi Jim,

Having read about the problem with Accurate Sights on Palm OS, I was just wondering about the possibilities of a version of Accurate Sights for the Pocket PC platform???

Cheers,

Luke.

Luke,
Do you know if it will run Visual Basic?
