So, Anybody thinking of going?? 24th-25th Nov 07
Nice 2 - 3 hour flight to the land of the long white cloud.
Great host, beautiful country, shoot some 3D and have a bit of a holiday!!
What more could you ask for???

The Kiwi 3D Series has had a great attendance so far, 100+ shooters at the 1st and 2nd with the final being held this month 27th May.

With those numbers plus our mob it should be a "fantastic shoot"

Maybe CF but going by some of the scores coming in from their 1st 2 series
the land across the pond could give us a run for our money!!!!!

I had a shoot at the Massey Club early January-really impressive facilities re club ghouse and ranges. Am I right in thinking it is the only privately owned field range in NZ?

Not sure about that, but I wouldn't be surprised. Most of the clubs here that shoot 3D tend to be temporary courses on privately owned farm land that belongs to members. They rotate which land they use over time.
At Massey, we have a clubhouse with a bar and reasonable facilities, and our own range. About half the range is on club land and the other is leased.
We tend to have 2 or 3 courses, a practice range, and an IFAA course.

So do you have your own 3D admin or is it shot under the auspices of the NZ Field Archery Assoc? Here we shoot 3D under 3DAAA and also ABA rules, with the latter like your NZFAA, affiliated to IFAA. Would the Massey comp be open to Aussies from both outfits?

I nam hardly an expert, but it seems that some clubs use IBO, and some ABA rules. I imagine that the 3d Pacifics will be open to both, but I'm not certain which rules it is being run under. Hopefully someone more knowledgable than myself will jump in and provide a more accurate answer.

The 3D Pacifics will be run under IBO / 3DAAA rules and format
As it will be hosted in NZ, it will be up to the host to decide who can or cannot participate.
If it was to be hosted in OZ, anyone, at this point in time could shoot it as long as they were at least a temporary member.

I was under the impression that any member of 3DAAA was allowed to go and compete in this competition , if they could afford it. Is this so ? I need to know before i book tickets.:ohdrama:

Yes any 3DAAA full member can compete, as 3DAAA are the co-host.
But it'll be up to Kiwi 3D what other associations members can shoot and how their insurance is set up.
We have been assured by Kiwi 3D this will NOT be an issue.

My above post was for the benefit of Readnought, (;) )and should have been in quotations.

What is the reasoning behind no editing in this stream?

No package deals, if your thinking of going, book your ticket early to get a good deal. More info in the next 3DAAA newsletter.

Just wondering if there are many kiwi shooters in the female unaided category? :archer: I'd love to come home to NZ and compete against some of my own peoples. Also luv a go at some prize money

There certainly is,one of the girls from my own club shoots barebow compound and is a very hard act to follow.
I belive there are a few others as well.
Maybe check out the NZFAA web site "competition results",that will give you an idea as well.
Cheers.

just a question... will our eftpos cards (anz) and mobile phones work in new zealand?

puddin
26-09-2007, 05:04 PM
eftpos should work here, as anz here should have the same system etc. if your foen is vodafone it should work fine. other then that you will most likely need to sort something out with vodafone here. as telecom uses CDMA which is not a type used in any other part of the world anymore.

I dont think anz cards work over here, I asked about using mine in ausy and was told it wouldnt work. If you want to trasfure money to an australian anz you have to do a telegraphic transfure or some thing you can't just deposit the money into another account.

My wife had problems using her card at Auckland airport, but I had no problem with my Oz credit union Visa card. What a drama just so we could buy a cup of coffee waiting 3 hrs for a connection! :)

Regarding mobile phones, contact your provider to see what you might need to do. We did not use our mobile in NZ (on Telstra Oz) but had arranged some sought of switch on the system to cover us to use local service providers while overseas. Worked a treat in the US.

Other world travellers may be able to provide you with better advice in this regard.

Never had a problem with my Australian Amex or an ANZ Visa in NZ, though they are credit cards, not just EFTPOS.

My Optus mobile works there just fine, though I have Global Roaming permanently set up. As frommy said, check things out with your provider before leaving AUS.

Nicer folks you'd have a hard time finding.
Til next year,an I'll see ya' then.
