The Bowhunter Open is a two day event being hosted by the Pine Ridge Club in South Auckland, July 14 and 15. Day One registration starts at 09:30, first round is a Fred Bear competition, followed by lunch. Then a 20 target 3D round. Day Two muster is at 08:30 and features a 20 target Technical Round set on their very attractive Bush Course and a second 3D round. The Fred Bear course can be shot during the Sunday lunch break for anyone who couldn't make Saturday morning. Lunch, BBQs run all day etc. There is some really good sponsorship with the main prize being a 2-day guided hunt to be drawn from entrants in the Hunter Division. $500 in cash to the top shooters in the Tournament Decider on Sunday afternoon. Plus custom knives, broadheads, arrows, camo gear and a bunch of non-hunting free stuff as well. There'll be ordinary food plus game being served up to add that extra bit of atmosphere. It's going to be a big event by all reports and is being well supported by both club shooters and hunters alike. You can download an entry form from the Advanced Archery website: advancedarchery.co.nz or request an entry and a map by emailing to burnet@ihug.co.nz Pre-registration is definately preferred so that catering, prizes etc can be sorted in advance.
