RE4 for wii completely ****s over every other version of the game. The point and shoot control scheme makes the controls for games like Gears of War seem primitive and backwards in comparison.

Thumb stick aiming controls, how quaint.

For those of us that haven't played it, how does this control thing work? Is it using those motion sensitive Wii things?

Yep.

The remote is your "gun". You hold down the trigger to put yourself in an aiming mode. The nunchuck then controls your view, and you can aim anywhere within this view using the remote as a pointing device. So the view and aiming controls are independent of each other.

This is similar to Gears where you hold down the left trigger to go into an aimed mode. Then the right thumbstick controls the cross hairs. RE4 controls are massively more intuitive. One review reckons it actually softens the difficulty levels as your cross hairs now moves how you expect it. It literally reacts as fast as you do. Head shots are almost easy.

Its ****ing awesome.

The worst about the wii is the Resident evil Chronicle that looks completely Incredibly grate, XD
RE 1 2 and 3 remade in 3D with a wii controller looking like a 9mm handgun
It looks, great and fun >_<
why did capcom did that to us
Us that do not want a wii

Sounds cool. I'm loving the way Microsoft and Sony had this big arms race over whose processor would be faster, and Nintendo's just trumped both of them with something that's actually fun to play.

the wii actually makes you get into the game, you dont sweat after playing a tennis game on Xbox for a half hour, but on Wii....!

and thats a good thing?...

each to their own i guess...

I always liked gun games but I would probably get bored if all my FPS were point-and-shoot.... Halo wouldnt work... even Gears of War would suck if it was like that...

Anything that gets you off your ass is a good thing.

I don't think you get it. Instead of having some artificial and lame constant speed thumbstick aiming control, the cross hairs is mapped like a pointing device. You move fast, it moves fast. You move slow, it moves slow. Like you were actually holding your weapon in your hand.

This is nothing but good. The controls are intuitive. Shooters on the Wii are going to be difficult because they are genuinely hard, not because the controls are bad.

Remember when some people got quake working on the CAVE?

The Wii is the CAVE, but smaller, cheaper, and in your living room.

Yep. Chronicles is going to be a rail shooter like Virtua Cop. If you played the rail shooter mode on Ray Man Raving Rabbids, you already know just how awesome the game is going to be.

Yeah I get what you're saying... it just doesnt appeal to me... I may play it and enjoy it for a short period, but I wouldnt like my fave' games to be like that... I like thumb controlls... also most games have a thing called 'sensitivity' where you adjust how sensitive the thumb sticks are... thats how I beat all my friends at halo... put my sensitivity up to 8 or 9 and you can spin circles around them... if they try it they cant shoot for crap :P

Ninevalleys: I play video games so I dont have to get off my ass... If I want to work out I go for a walk or go to the gym... I do see your point that it may be good for fat lazy kids... but the only reason kids are fat these days is because their parents should be shot...

Personally I'd rather play tennis for real, but shooting zombies will be better on the Wii until real life comes with a 'save game' function ;-)
