Received this today:

Hi All,

Following length discussions it has been decided to make a change to the
rules regarding the use of arrow rests for Barebow Compound.

This change will be incorporated into the new Archery Australia Shooting
Rules.

8.2.3 The arrow rest may incorporate a moveable pressure button, pressure
point or arrow plate and as well may be of the shoot around, shoot over or
spring loaded (up and down or in and out) style, but must not incorporate a
drop away action which has the rest raised into position prior to or upon
draw using rubber tubing, spring, a cable, magnetic or mechanical set up and
drops away upon release. The pressure point in all types may not be placed
further back than 6cm (inside) from the throat of the handle (pivot point)
of the bow

Please distribute this information; Chapter 8 of the Archery Australia
Shooting Rules will incorporate this change immediately.

Like how many Barebowers would know what a pressure button was :silly:

The pressure button is what blows when I miss (often) followed by the helicopter bow!

Interesting. Why did this come about? Pretty much, to shoot barebow compound well, get a Hoyt, pse springy rest and away you go.
