I have an American friend who would like to hunt Red deer in NZ in around March next year, and he asked me if I could help. Well about the only thing I can do is ask you guys for help, so if anyone has any information, could you please help us out.

Yep, I'd suggest talking to Kevin & Carol at Advanced Archery. Kevin's a good guy and has been deer hunting before.
If your friend's coming in from the States he'll fly into Auckland, so they'll be the most convenient.
