Hi
I thought that I should tell you all a little secret, but please keep it quiet as everyone will want some
Since the AMO show this year a new nock system has been on sale...and luckily not many of you have heard about.
The new system is 'Magnock', this removes the standard nock from your arrow and replaces it with a receiver, with a magnet inside, which is fixed to your string and in the back of the arrow is a small plastic nock with a ball bearing in it.
This system removes inconsistancies from nock to string attachment, you know that click when you nock the arrow, well its robbing you of a few pounds of force to get the arrow off the string, the Magnock robs you of only a few (4.5) oz's. so more force is given to the arrow.
How will this help?...well I have found that group sizes are reduced at all distances, because there is no inconsistancy in release.
Tell you what, have a look at the web site and see for yourselves, if you have any questions...please email me or the manufacturers, they do everything they say they do.
BUT PLEASE DON'T TELL OTHERS, IT'S OUR LITTLE SECRET 8)

What size arrows do they cover? I was looking at a brouchure for them at Bows Arrows Bits from teh AMO show. Interesting idea, but would need to shoot them before I comitted to them.

Hi Marcus A
They are currently available in both 'G' and 'Super G' sizes, so any shaft that takes these will work (with or without a uni-bush).
The receiver is the same size for both so no need to change your set-up is going from outdoors to Indoors, or vise versa, just align your rest to accomidate the increase/decrease in shaft diameter.
I also know that a system to fit the pins used on X10's, ACE's and CarbonTech's is on the table.
If you give them a try I know you will be very happy with the way they work and the results are even better than first expected.
Please feel free to ask anymore questions, and I'll do my best to answer them.

I knew that I would forget something.....
Magnock for the forseeable future (I'd guess till the end of this year) offer a total guarentee on the system, it breaks they replace it.........SO WHAT'S NEW?
Well this also covers the nocks, you damage one its replaced free of charge, all they say is return it and they will post you one back. This covers Robin Hoods as well, now in my mind you have got nothing to lose.
Costs are in line with Beiter's after you have bought the starter kit which included 12 nocks and the receiver, and even this kit isn't expensive when the above cover is known about.
Shoot well

If you make pins to suit the Doo Sung Olypian 500 and 600's I'ld be interested in trying some out.
What are the scores of the best FITA shooter you have shooting with them?

Hi Marcus A
We will not be making the pins, but because these pins all take the same size nocks, we will be making one size which will fit all.
I'm sure that I have heard that the Doo Sung shafts will take an ACE pin, if this is true we will be doing one that you can use.
I'm not sure on the time frame for these to become available, we are still working on design, but I'll keep you upto speed.
Scores, well I'm not the best by far, but i've been doing 1350+ (compound) and 1250+ recurve. We have several very well known US archers testing them, initial reports are very good from them, and if you read any of the US Black boards, I'm sure you will see the calibre of archers now using them.
I hope this answers your questions, please feel free to ask more.

Having just got off the phone to several members of the UK Disabled squad, I have found that about 75% of the team have gone over to the Magnock system, almost all are using Easton shafts and say this combination is deadly.
The members that aren't using them are currently shooting X10's, not too much of a problem as we have started to modify the nocks to fit the pin system so they can give them a go.
I will keep you all upto date with developments as and when they happen.
Shoot well
Yes I'll keep your little secret quiet, is that the your doing us a favour by telling us sales pitch :)

Hello Gareth
I know it sounded like a sales pitch, I guess at first I wanted it to be one, but since posting I wish I could start it again.
Although I am a Pro shooter for Magnock, I don't get anything extra if sales go up. I have just found that it has improved my scores and so I wanted everyone to know about them. If they help me to get better scores by removing inconsistancies in release tensions then I'm sure everyone will find the same.
I would love to see everyone reach their full potential, if the Magnock can help as it has me, them I'm all for it.
Shoot well

Agree with you Gary, if good shooters try to remain that way by not helping anyone else the sport doesn't improve.
We have a disabled archer at our club. What is the reason they went to them? Just consistancy or were they benificial for the disabled shooters in some other way?

Hi Marcus A
The reason that have gone over to them is just the fact that on testing and group plotting with Target Plot they found that they gained them some points.
The young lady in my club (ladies Compound) who IS going to win the European Disabled Champs this year in Poland (well I have coached her so I have to believe it :D ) gained about 6 points on her 70m distance. In fact since changing her scores are only just off the required scores need to be invited onto the able bodied National squad.
Hope this help
Gary
Don't worry I was just stirring you mate :) But there is a fine line between letting people know about a product and a blatent Ad. If you look through Marcus's threads you'll never see him saying don't go to that pro shop go to the one that sponsers me. It's a bit of a grey area with people promoting gear on forums because you don't know what their real agenda is, having said that welcome to the forum :) I'm not hastling you and if these things work for you then thats great :) Goodluck with your student winning the disabled championships this year :)

Yeah agree the first post put me on the back foot at first. (was considering deleting it as I don't want the forum to turn into a free advertising area for people) however the posts since have been excellent and come across honest so I don't mind. :D
When you get the ones that work with pin nocks will the same nock adapters work for both ACE's and huge allows. So if someone shot ACE'soutdoors and 2312's indoors will they have to replace the adapter each time?
I think Bows Arrows and Bits were considering bringing these in. I'll talk to them some more about them. Will Magnock send them some free samples to try out?

Hi Marcus A and Pat Mole
I'll try and answer both of your questions, Chris of Magnock is currently modifying some nocks to fit the pin system that arrow manufacturers are using, its a simple procedure, but while we all wait for new molds to be made, tests conducted etc. its a quick and effective way of getting to try them.
Doo Sung shafts, I'm not sure about the fit on these as I believe that they are a totally different size to g nocks, however I have been told that some of the Easton pins will fir these shafts, but I'm not 100% sure, nor am I sure about what shaft size etc. maybe someone who has these shafts can jump in and help.
As for changing shafts from indoor sizes to outdoor sizes, all you need to do is have the nocksin each shaft and fit away, they both use the same receiver. All I do is to drop my rest a little, so that my shaft stays in the plane I want (indoors are larger than out) and I found that my nocking point was right.
Bows Arrows and Bits, would need to contact Magnock direct, you can click on the link in my signature if you haven't already and email Chris from there. I do know that several sets have been order from Australia already, but theres always room for more, especially a shop.
Franklin.
Sorry I personally don't know of 1300 recurve shooters using them, but this is more to the fact as I see it, recurve archers are a little more picky and difficult to get to try something new. Also over here in the UK 1300 recurve archers are very rare, we have some not not many. I do know though that some of the US Olympic team had now got some on trial so if/when we get some feed back from them, I'll let you know.

Just got a set of these last night to try. I'm going to put them on a few CarbonAeros and try out as my Doo Sungs are using pin nocks. So far to be honest I'm skeptical on the basis that I prefer a nock that is removable in damage and am not sure about something attached to the string. However I'm willing to try am out. I'm tuning my Doo Sungs at the moment so I won't report for a few weeks.
