Today I sat through the first seminar in my quest to become a judge.
Why? Because there doesn't appear to be enough of them.

And I like wearing red shirts!

However, on filling in some paperwork, I saw one little thing that could be a hiccup.
In the application for accreditation as a judge it says in the "Personal resume of archery activities" (a minimum period of twelve (12) months in archery is required to become a Judge with Archery Australia Inc).

If that's the case, I haven't been involved with Archery Australia type archery for twelve months.
However, many years ago I was involved with ABA archery for several years.

What do you think the spirit of that requirement is?
Do I meet it or not?

If you mention ABA they will probably look upon that as a bad thing  As we all know , ABA dont adhere to rules or Judge anything unless ya got $50 :p

Just tell them you are Whiz, they probably don't know that.

Explain how you know heaps, learn real fast, and have the archery knowledge after 6 months that most don't learn, discover or experience after 6 years.

I'm sure the 'rule' is probably only a 'guideline' and is at the discretion of AA.

Also tell them you live in Canberra, that should clinch it.

Fudge it :D

Then at the Australia Day shoot when you call one of my arrows out I can yell.....

"OUT!..... what do you mean OUT!, you CAN'T be serious!!!, like what do you know Judge!.... you haven't been in archery 12 months"

At which point I fully expect the head judge to come over and sack you, then overrule your arrow call

:D

Go for it. The worst thing that can happen is for them to say NO. Other than that all else is a plus.
