shooting lots of arrows mostly.
i know for a fact that erika and hannah have been shooting lots, 6 days a week for hannah 4 to 6 rounds per day.
hannahs hard effort has paid off as she shot 5 new pb's (3 distance pb's and and fita pb of 1339 with a miss) and 1 second day, fita pb 1349, at the canberra shoot and doesnt show signs of slowing down. lots of time training and being coached by erika.
her training also has cardio weights and physio prescribed excersice.
i think she spends more time at the club then i do at work.
All this however has been off her own bat. no one has told her to do all this. but she knew this is what was needed if she wanted to get the scores required for the program.
I heard that PAT (note the capitals as he is now a demi-god) also shoots for minimum 3 hours a day no matter what the weather. looks like he bench presses a house 30 times each day.

I heard that PAT started benchpressing houses, but moved up to a block of flats with semi-detached parking just prior to the Canberra shoot.
Maybe he'll go back to clean and jerking a beach cottage or bungalow on the off season.

hello ppl, i am ARUN P from Bangalore, India. Jus recently i bought an new compound bow for myself.
Hoyt ultraelite xt 3000 with draw weight of 50-60, c2 cams of 28" draw length, carter evolution release aid, quick tune rest. N my arrows are easton pro-tours of size 420.
First thing is wether my arrows r correct for the bow????
N moreover in my place there are no coach here to ask any help. I am the first person to get an compund bow in my state. I have somehow learnt how to use the compound bow n have also shot upto 70m distance till now. But i did not get much good result, i hav reached upto 307pts in 70m (Previously i was using FITA bow).
Now im thinking that my basics in compound is not so good, coz i havent tuned my bow properly also n moreover i dono wat all comes in picture for tuning.
So, can u ppl help me out by giving ur advice n some lessons ( what all i have to do & concentrate ) also with the tuning tips.
Plz mail me to arunp_Archer@yahoo.co.in or arunp.archer@gmail.com.......
ill b waiting for ur reply............

I'd say your arrows are fine.
As for shooting compound vs recurve; there is really very little difference, especially if you are using a backtension release like the Evolution. The biomechanics are basically the same.
You might have been better off getting the Cam &1/2 Plus system to allow some adjustment of draw length, because it will probably be a little shorter than it is with a recurve.
If you can afford all that lovely gear, lash out and buy Jim Park's "Mastering...." books: you can find them on the Urban Archery website and I'm sure Marcus will happily deliver them to Bangalore. They are well worth the investment.
