Interesting to read in the UK that alot of clubs were going to ban all carbon arrows during their shoots witht eh support of the GNAS ( uk govening body)
but have since backed down from obtaining advice from FITA

The Operations Committee are currently liaising with the organisers of all WRS events to inform them of this decision and requesting their compliance. If the organisers are unable to comply then, unfortunately, WRS must be withdrawn in accordance with the FITA ruling. However, it must be stressed that British Record Status will not be affected. A notice will be placed on the GNAS website clarifying which tournament are still continuing to have World Record Status as soon as possible

Tournament Organisers will be receiving a letter asking them to contact either Linda or Karen at the GNAS office by phone or email if they cannot comply with the ruling so any appropriate refund can be sorted out

as a footnote the reason why some clubs wanted them banned was because alot of clubs use multi use grounds and they feared that a lost all carbon arrow could result in injury to another feild user if not found. citing that all carbon arrows are harder to find than alluminium cored

but have since backed down from obtaining advice from FITA... I should think so too - what's next in the unilateral FITA rule changes, only allowed to use hemp strings/wooden limbs/feather fletches...etc.?

How does string, limb or fletch materials affect safety? the concern was that carbon arrows wouldn't be found, and pose a threat to other users of the field. You're just being a drama queen now.

I dont think that it would affected that many WRS status shoots, which was the hub of the problem, I can only think of 2 and they were run by the same club, but yes GNAS have had their knuckles rapped, and FITA law will be upheld in future allowing a level playing field for equipment of choice.
