I've seen the results on the ANZ website, I supposed maybe medal swapping in pubs to be done or not!

medal swapping was done accordingly (and we got it right :ohdrama: ) straight after at the buffer, with beers indeed...
Still curious to know who's go the overall champion in the end (to bad i had to take time off to go to the embassy..), if the winner could declare himself tomorrow when he sees this thread.... ;)

Yeah, funny how quickly three blokes can sort out a matter like that after quite a few beers, but as soon as you have an organising committee...

Our personal medal presentation was the greatest! im still slightly put out about them jumping to the conclusion that we stuffed up our own results....

Some people are never happy. You guys are lucky you even had a Nationals this year:) (dont spose their is anyone putting their hand up for next years yet?)
In defence of whoever it was who compiled the scores.....they had worked on those Nationals for months non-stop and were well and truly entitled to go on holiday and have some chill time in the wop-wops having had minimal christmas breaks, before coming back and touching up the scores.
Now for the knife - I've never seen so many people who didnt enter events get medals. It made me laugh. Memories of a past thread about too many medals being awarded in archery, it seems now we're taking things to the absolute extreme.:o

I'm sure I'll cop a bit of stick for this one, but I'm going to go ahead and say it, because I reckon it needs saying.
In all fairness to the organising committee, it was a great event, a majority of the tasks were carried out admirably, and the athletes were made to feel welcome. It was excellent to watch the matchplay from the stadium seating, top marks for that. However, for athletes to have to wait the better part of a month for results of one of the events of our National Championships is not very good. We need to be increasing the public exposure of our sport, which means getting the results out that day. The media generally won't be bothered reporting results of an event that are more than a couple of days old - their interest is in current news. Then there are the relatives and friends of athletes at home, waiting to check up on results on the net, which is increasingly common these days.
Please don't see this as a personal attack on the organisers of the event - I understand that everyone is a volunteer, and that you were asked to run the event as noone else had put up their hand. I'm just saying that it is an important aspect of the organisation of the Nationals, and something we need to improve on next time.

Why would you cop stick for that comment......I do actually agree with you, despite my post.
However beside that small facet of the final field scores (I should point out that most of the people who did do that job have never done any thing of that sort before and so are to be congratulated for putting their best foot forward under pressure, both time and Carol) I thought the Nationals went quite well.

Sorry, forgot to mention - the public exposure for this event was better than there has been for years - large articles in local papers, results in major morning papers, radio chat on popular stations and a national news providerran a story on television rabout a week later.
Results....ah well better luck to them next time.
