Has anyone any opinions on this bow whether it is good or bad? :)

Never shot one so can't say for sure. Did you want it for hunting? If so look at the Hoyt MagnaTec

Very very nice bow and well priced at about $700. I Luke Eberbach who sometimes comes onto the board hunts with one and can pass shots clean through boars with it.
However the Alpine looks like a decent bow. The limb pockets look a bit ordinary and the limbs a bit skinney. But it should pack a fair punch. Alpine are known for decent gear, just not a power brand like Hoyt or PSE.

Also the Champion Stratus is a sweet shooter. Very little vibration and priced the same as the MagnaTec.

Is it for you? What kind of shooting are you planning? What does it cost?

I have been shooting for 9yrs and I am just interested in trying compound. Local shop has one second hand for about 750. I think they are $478USD in the states.

How much did you want to spend?

All up I dont want to spend more than about $1000. I have a sight and stabiliser and arrows. Just need a bow. (Though I can get my hands on a Promedalist with the carbonplus limbs)

Well if you shoot the ProMedalist them make sure you get a good quality crash helmet to go with it. Seen far far too many of them break through the grip into 2 pieces to believe anyone should shoot em. Damn accurate though. (I know quite a few who shot 1350's with em back around 1990. )
For sight use have a serious look at the Champion range of bows. Really are top quality and good prices. The Stratus is nice and costs about $700. I was thinking of getting one for unmarked field, but would most likely just get a CyberTec if I went that far.
Otherwise I think my Dad has a Hoyt Aspen for sale that he may want under $1000 for. He shot it for a week and is selling it. (don't ask, it's just what he does. He has a brand new Quantum for sale too)
His email address is david@comdac.com.au tell him Marcus said he has an Aspen for sale.
Of course you being in NSW makes buying a bow from Vic a little hard.
