Marcus,
What time does it start?
Assuming it is not a hurricane, I will be there.
(I recall that Colin guaranteed no wind last time, and that was excellent).

10am June 7th at DVA Grounds for National Ranking Round FITA shoot
Suggest people get there earlier so we can set out targets and get started as close to 10am as possible.

I Feel that on Saturday the weather will be fine 24d, with a light wind from the south.

Don’t suppose you'd consider changing the trial to Monday, given the weather forecast
(will Dva’s indoor range be available tomorrow?)

Shooting 1000 for a FITA in a hurricane does not appeal. Monday might be better?

C'mon Jim, you've always said you love shooting in the wind :D

Only problem with Monday is making sure all those coming know about it. Perhaps if the weather is really bad we will cancel on the day, shoot tons of Indoor and then move to Monday.
I've been waiting all week for sight settings too. :(

Luke,
Yes, I like the wind for competitions, but in ranking events we are after a score!
Quite happy to win the Nationals with a 900 FITA, but 1000 in a ranking round would not be so flashy.
I currently have 1370+1365 sitting in the rankings, so I need a good day to be able to get a score that is useful.

OK Gale force winds tomorrow which means I will put the shoot off till Monday. 10am start.
Please tell all you know who are thinking of coming along. Someone let Peter King know if they have his email address.

The results

Points of notice

Top notch shooting by Mike, especially at 90m. Disaapointing he didn't get the world record at 90m, but oh well.

Jim was behind all day and then almost won it at 30m!

David quietly put up a monster 340 at 50m to also almost win it.

Colin shot a PB

Marcus still sucks outdoors. :(

Greg shot for the second time this year and missed on a PB by 4

Malcolm continues to impress with a 292 at 90m

Faye shot 1300 for the first time!!

Erika shot 1303 even after putting up 700 arrows this weekend recovering from flu

Zoe has the most 1290's in history

Karina shot her first ever FITA, and did it well

Diane shot a new PB just off 1200

Well done everyone!!!!

Ha!!

I was on top of it for the first end!!! Unfortunately, reality kicked in after that resulting in 57-56-54-52-53-52.

It was a really good day, and the conditions were fantastic with no wind to speak of. It was a pity that none of us seemed to be able to really hit it...

Thanks to Marcus and DVA for putting on a great two days of shooting (including the matchplay on sunday). Great club to come to for a shoot. :D
