One thing the Elite committee pushes is that we need to rise to the world standard.
It has long been claimed that Blue Bows are more accurate, and it's hard to argue with results. In Mens and Womens Compound at the Nationals this year they took 3 out of the 4 gold.
However this isn't the case on the world stage.
The last 2 Mens Target winners used red bows.

Interestingly enough the last indoor winners both used 2004 Silver flame (same as the 2005 Aussie Womens target champ)

So perhaps we are looking at the wrong things here? :D ;)

I still think you could be overlooking the relevance of the colour coordination factor, and focusing too much on just the colour of the riser. We really need more details of the total setup* shot by the winning archers, and ideally that of those who simply placed in the events. :munch:
* colour and brand of riser/limbs/string/fletches/nocks/arrows/armguards/quiver/tab/release/sling/bowstand etc

Good point.
See how well the Doinkers work with the Silver Flame, while the choice of feather and shaft colours match the Red/White/Blue for USA very well.

Dietmar would have lost had he used a silver Doinker rod instead of the All-Black setup due to Mathew's use of black cams.
He did however run the risk of defeat for using the daggy 10° down adapter.

I believe that a gold bow is better. That way your arrows know where they are supposed to go in the target (gold to gold :D)

But he got it right with his choice of fletch colour. What a winner.

So...if you have a purple bow (being red and blue combined) with colour co-ordinated equipment you could win all the time!

Then why don't I win all the time? :p
Maybe it's because I havn't shot competitions before...

Haha...problem being I can't get up to the distances needed yet...most competitions want me to either shoot 50 or 60, and I'm still just up to 35.

It all takes time but in the end when you can shoot the distances it is all worth it, keep going.

I was thinking a red flame like the old style. So it's a combination of the silver flame and the red, but with the blue. Maybe a purple flame. Ultimate Winningest bow

But you have forgotten shirt, cap, pants, shoe-laces, teeth whitening, nail clip length and eyebrow orientation. Shameful lack of scientific rigour.

Going by the colour of his hair, Deitmar will need to get a grey bow (or red hair dye).

I'm not going grey but have a silver bow. I figured if I can't beat the old people I may as well join them early.

I think we all know red ones go faster. Its science. You just can't argue with the science.
Fact.
I said so.
Marcus

Yeah but the science that showed that was a red car travelling visually faster.
So with a bow/arrow combo is a red arrow faster or is a red bow faster? And if it's a red bow, then who cares cause we don't throw them anyway. (except in certain situations)

Sure Ims Red/Blue bow. Only one problem it's a recurve, wasn't this originally about the compound side o things?

I like Craig Tysons new Apex. It's Red/Silver/Blue. So he gets the forgiveness of the blue part, the accuracy of the red part and the silver part suits him getting older. ;)

i will have to disagree with this as i just purchased a red conquest 4, and in comparison to the blue con 3 it was slower......so red is not faster..............damn it...but it looks a hell of alot better

Craig's not old enough to be honored with grey hair yet surely? That's only for people as old as 2Dogs. :munch:

Ah, so thats the reason you haven't joined all your "blue rinse set" neighbours at the village then ?
& the gold handbag & shoes would clash :D

I think if as a nation, we need to be colour matched, I think we should go one step further.
As a nation we developed in-vitro fertilisation.
Our teams should only consist of colour matched indentical quintuplets

I'm all for colour coordination, but why would you need 5 for a team? :-? :D

What I find interesting is that it's the same woman that won indoors and out, and she changed bows in between. Clearly this acknowledges that an element of speed is necessary outdoors (hence red) but indoors it's less important, so you might as well have a naturally more accurate (hence silver flame) bow! :)
