Medical exemption? Like what, I've got rabies so I fit right in?

Also, I'd like to claim GrantWomack as British - we taught him to shoot (or more accurately, gave him a bow and let him get on with it), and there's Andy (the guy who did the Hoyt colour poll) who is, albeit soon to be an Aussie.

I have dual citizenship (UK and AUS) - as does David ....... though don't use the British one too often except when travelling around Europe and not wanting to join the "Non EEC" queues at passport checks!! :D :D

Damn straight. At least, we will for another few years till Danny Clifford starts doing consistent 1300s...

Well, as far as that goes, I'm not technically a pommy but I will be marrying one in a couple of months so I guess I'll be considered closer to being one than most...

But that also means I am really screwed if I wanted to shoot internationally. I can't compete for the UK because I am not a citizen. I can't compete for Australia because I won't be around to qualify and I can't compete for the US because of the same reason (yes, I am American as well - don't even bother trying to pick my accent!!!)

:( :(

I could have gotten myself a British passport if I wasn't lazy and intended to travel given my Dad is British. I think that doesn't aply anymore though. :(

Marcus that still applys. If your father was born there then you can get duel citizenship without a problem, it's a godsend when you travel in europe no visas. you just flash your uk passport and walk on by everyone waiting to get their visas stamped

My mum was born in England, but she is now an Australian Citizen. She gave up her British citizenship when she took Aussie citizenship. Very patriotic of her really!!

Thing is that it means I can not get british citizenship or a british passport, which is a shame...

Have you looked into that, Mike? I thought if your parents were British or even your grandparents were British, it wouldn't matter. Sort of applies on the rule that if your mum gave it up but you want to be British, you didn't influence her action so you can... At least that's the way I understood it. Either way, if your grandparents are/were, you can still apply. :)

"You need a form from the British consulate and you send it to them with dad's birth cert and marriage cert "

of course in your case Mike you want your um's certificate, not my Dad's. ;)

Nope just a case of wanting to have the option!! You know that whole thing of having the option...

I WILL STATE HERE AND NOW THAT I WILL NEVER BE BRITISH!!!! I am AUSTRALIAN!!! And thats the end of it.
I mean, why the hell would you want to live on a cold little island next to the North Sea??

It's just that its handy to have their passport!!!

:D

Meanwhile, did somebody report the fact that Teelow was mistakenly allowed back in to the country? Heads should roll...

Marcus

PPffftt and that's a union jack on the flag! :P

I reckon that spanking the posse gives Noel a temporary stay of deportation due to his services to the country. I've called Rudock and he is still planning on putting Teelow in detention, but hey, why fight it?

OI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was me, but think you're right that's why i changed to andy! I think this time next year I should have dual citizenship! So if i'm not good enough to get onto the British squad I can always stoop down and shoot for Australia! :D  (Either would be good though)!

21-09-2003, 05:35 AM
Well if you don't make it into the British Team, yeah you might make it as the pissboy on the AUS squad.

Actually I remember JAckson saying he was going to do a switch when the **** hit the fan down here. But when you sign an AIS contract apparently you give up the right to shoot for another country at the Olympics for up to 5 or 10 years I think.

Ok so Jolly Archer is now Andy...got it.....we won't listen to you then :D:D:D:

FOOTBALL!!! SORRY...........SOCCER (the reply to this will be interesting)!

A few big considerations here :o

1. Population comparison
2. Prominance of soccer in Pommieland compared to Oz.
( we have our own "Footy" ) (go the Crows)

 :-? :o

Have a look in the Archery Babe of the Year forum. If you can put up with the disgust of the hyperextension in her elbow, it's a pretty good photo of her... :)

Mary's not bad looking, sure, but she's not even close to Karen, no way.

Edit: Just realised how old that post was - nonetheless, you're still mad :-D
