i've been bow hunting/target shooting now for about four months, and im still having a slight problem with torquing. is there any sure fire way to eliminate bow torque? i've done everything from loosening up my nocks a bit to not gripping my bow and letting it rest in between my fore finger and thumb until the moment of release. Any tips would help out a lot_ _ James44

Maybe try shooting with a sling, and having a nice relaxed grip. That way you can learn to be confident that you don't have to grip the bow so much.

Also, it's critical to try and maintain a consistent hand position in the bow. Pay particular attention to this. Often, a good starting point is with the "lifeline" of your bow hand running down the left hand edge of the grip (for a right handed shooter).

While your at it, try and buy a copy of Mastering Compound Bows by James Park.

It has an excellent section in it regarding how to set up your sight extension to largely eliminate the effects of torque. Lots of other very useful information in there too.

Good Luck!

Here is a thread on bow grips. The sequence at the start is my grip on release. Notice how the bow leaves the hand completely

Eberbachl, Marcus, I appreciate the tips. Although I havent been able to purchase the sling, I tried (a bunch!) shooting with a much more relaxed grip and so far so good. I appreciate the pictures too Marcus. James44
