What I will cover:
Two key areas where we lose points are how we hold onto the bow and how we use the release device (or fingers).
I will go through the way our bowhand placement affects our accuracy, its major impact on bow tuning, how we can get it correct, and how we can help ensure that it remains correct from shot-to-shot. I will use a number of good practical demonstrations that you will also be able to try. You should bring your gear.
If it is desired, I will help archers get their bowhand position correct on the night with some direct coaching.
It is a very important aspect of our technique, and worth putting time into.

One thing I try to do in these seminars is to provide everyone with something new or something they had never thought about before, with a view to them scoring more in the future. With this in mind I have a couple of things to show tomorrow night that may surprise you a little.

Marcus, Cam - please remember everything and tell me at Mornington. I don't suppose you'll tell me before the shoot but you can tell me afterwards.

Enjoy everyone.

I'll be interested to see how this "amazing" new grip works.

Is it possible to shoot yourself with a bow?

Well had a great night and learnt a lot of very valuable information and advice. :D
Thanks for coming and donating your time and patience with us @ DVA Jim, a very well run and educational seminar. I learnt a hell of a lot.

Oh and for anyone that didn't make it or can't, then all of the tips that we were shown tonight, are all detailed in Mastering Compound Bows and Mastering Archery Technique Analysis, both available from Urban Archery :D

Yep, thanks go to Jim for a fantastically informative evening.

Many archers learnt a few tricks tonight about how to grip their bow correctly, and Jim certainly dispelled a few myths :D

A great night!

Thanks very much Jim, we appreciate your efforts!

I've taken some pics - will ask Marcus to post some up here.

Cheers,

Luke.

Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully I was able to demonstrate a couple of things you may never have seen before, and which are quite insightful in how to get the best from your bowhand. I am certainly impressed with how well DVA is going about its archery, and in general the techniques at DVA are a cut above what I see in other places - it does not surprise me that you are getting such good scores.
