Would people be interested in buying Archery-Forum.com shirts and or Hats? What about cloth patches? Anything else?
reason is to promote the site and also to help raise some money to help fund the site. I won't ever charge membership for it but it costs me to run so anything helps.
Any ideas for a slogan?

thanks

I'd be happy to get something if it helps cover running costs. Beanie's seem to be in at the moment.

Some slogans

Borrowed from movie titles:
"Hey dude, Where's my arrow?"
"Fletch Lives"

Others:
"Archery Forum, Nocking on your door"
"Set bow's to stun" (this one is for you Robert)
"Nock off time, Archery Forum"
"The wistling arrow"
"Everybody's within range, Archery Forum"

 :D :) :-? :o

I wouldn't have a problem buying something if it looked cool

Marcus,
I'd love to have something from the Land Down Under. I'd be really generous, I'd send you something from the AT site, or would you rather it be from AIN?

Their memoribilia was created in some outta the way place where------well, I'd better stop lest I disrespect someone!

I like "Hey Dude, Where's my arrow?" fits well with our 10 laws of archery. However I havn't heard one good thing about the movie so maybe not. :)

How about

Archery-Forum.com
Teadrinkers and knuckledraggers unite!

Bit long really.
Maybe I won't have a slogan for the shirts. What do people prefer, polo or T-shirts?
Hats I will do for sure though, they are pretty cheap.

L-Roy
AIN stuff? No thanks I'll pass on that! AT should be sending me a hat as I reached 15 posts. Actually there is a parcell at the post office, might be it!

I'm with Gareth, not a problem if it looks cool. Anything to support a great site

Are that must be it then!
Well I'm awaiting a friend of mine to get me some pricing etc. So when I get the design and cost finalised I'll make an online order form. Pre-orders will be essential.
Thanks.

Eberbachl

The dude at teh promotions company I deal with is on holidays (Vietnam I think) so I have to wait till he gets back. He's doing me a favour on the stuff though. Once he gets back I'll work out what goods and go from there.
Thanks for the interest.

Hey Marcus have you considered charging a modest fee to for registered users, I would have no problem paying an annual subscription fee. this forum not only provides some wonderful entertainment as well as being very informative from an archery point of view it is also a very important means of communication. I think its roll in this area will continue to grow as more archers become aware of its ecistence. lol

Marcus

I thought about that for around 3.7645 seconds. Then I thought that I wouldn't join a forum that wasn't free. Best thing I can do is ask people to support the forum by buying it's products once they start to grow and telling as many people as possible. Hense the shorts etc. That way people can choose to buy something and help me out, while others may not.
It would be nice to charge for usage, but that business model is not popular on thenet I'm afraid.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Gotta agree Marcus,
It's a bit like paying to join in a conversation. More than happy to support the site even if the prices are a bit inflated to help cover costs, at least you have a tangible object (read TOY  ) to play with.

Well if you setup a "Swear Jar" type of arrangement, where registered users lodge their Paypal accounts with you.

Then everytime we abuse each it would cost a $1.00

I think between Adam, Noel & Myself we would keep you in business and provide you with a tidy little profit :P

Count me in as well Marcus. Good idea. Anything to help this site stay up and keep the slinging matches going between Paul, Noel and Adam... :D and the information of course

I'm getting a quote tomorrow on some cloth badges to start with. Should end up around $7 each. If I can get em cheaper I will. Sorry if that's a touch high. They will be the same as our logo above except with the URL below too.

As for shirts and caps, I'm moving on them, been busy with getting DVA shirts made up, now they are done it's time for AF to take a turn. I'll go with patches and caps first.

Bring a few to the rd nats, we should be able to get rid of some there, I still like the idea of the cow and the catapult theme, I wish I could draw.

Marcus
03-10-2002, 04:32 PM
I like that too, but we need a design first. yeah I'm hoping to get the patches done before Coffs.

Eberbachl
03-10-2002, 10:03 PM
Yeah, I love it, I'll buy an AF cap for sure  I wish I could draw too...it would be great to have the cow and catapault theme, it somes us up nicely :D

...about the best I could do would be ASCII art

:bday: who said I was a computer nerd? :bday:

Hey, I could go for a polo shirt, but im affraid the postage would be a killer (im in Ottawa, Canada)

I think its a great idea selling shirts/hats to support the forum, but i agree that paying for a membership would just end in a loss of members, and stop people from joining. I think what you really need is more advertisers.

Marcus
06-10-2002, 04:39 PM
You mean some advertisers. I have none yet. The banners above support either archery forum or my own company.

Anyone who wants to add a banner add to the aboce rotation PM me for a quote!
