Well, I had a good day.
I think I shot alright for the first time, and want to continue with it all.
I am not sure if I can make next week because I have to go to my Uncles wedding which is a pain in the butt.
Do you think it would be ok if I missed next Sunday? I am trying to not go to the wedding, but I would feel bad if I didn't go. I would feel bad if I missed next Sunday too. :) hehe
Anyway, good to see you Luke, I didn't meet you Marcus, but maybe next time I will meet you.
Anyway, bye for now.

Hey glad to see you enjoyed it today! I was there shooting a red compound bow, black hair, big nose, blue camo pants :)
Don't stress too much about missing next Sunday, we start a Saturday course on the 14th of July so you can always shoot twice that weekend.

G'day Craig,
Glad to see you enjoyed it!
By the looks of what you were doing today, I think you shot really well for your first day! Keep it up!
Don't stress about missing next Sunday at all, go to the wedding.
You can join in on a Saturday as Marcus said, or if you can't make it on a Saturday, the next Sunday course will be fine!
...Like I said, don't stress, we're pretty easygoing about it, we won't banish you if you miss a week :)
...Hope you're ready for your exams next week :D he he :D

What do you teach Luke?
(please say brain surgery, that would be funny) :)

I teach computer systems and electrotechnology at NMIT (pretty broad I know).
The exam Craig has on Friday is on PC Systems Hardware installation (like I said, not brain surgery!):).
I've only been teaching this year, I took a two year contract at NMIT.
In industry, I work as a network engineer, mostly working with smallish NT domains, some netware, lots of lan infrastructure work, switches, vlanning etc and some Cisco and 3Com routing.:D

ah very cool. I've just left working as an onsite network guy where I built Mac networks for advertising agencies. Didn't get into routing till last year when I started playing with web servers, still suck withthe whole NAT thing but am getting better.
Have you played with 1000baseT yet? I have it on my machine but havn't tried it out yet, switches are too expensive for a casual play.

Cool, the closest I got to Mac networking was setting up IP and internet access via NT proxies for Mac clients, with NT services for Macintosh.
I played with Gigabit ethernet a bit before I started teaching, mostly test switches on loan from vendors like 3Com, but we did put a nice CB9000 chassis switch in to a client with something like 136 100 meg copper ports, 1000BaseSX/LX fiber ports, fibre backbone, 802.1q VLANS etc. Lots of fun.
My favourite things to play with though were wireless networking with 802.11b and Voice over IP telephony systems.
The routing we did was fairly basic, small/medium enterprise internet connectivity via ISDN etc.
I've just completed my Cisco CNAP course tonight. Yay! Tuesday nights are mine again:):)
