At our Club (Yarra Valley) we are coverd by our own insurance. This means that anybody can shoot there, AV, ABA, or people who are not members of any Association. Would there be any interest for a shoot like this. If so what would be shot? May be 1 AV Round & then 1 ABA round. Why should the associations keep us apart. JUST AN IDEA!

Yeah absolutely. Our club is the same for dual comps as we are covered by both. In fact last year we had a Xmas shoot where we shot a Canberra I believe (I wasn't there, still retired at the time). Went down well from what I gather.
The real shame is that IFAA is an excellent association. Their field round is the {*b}BEST{b*} in the world and their indoor is good fun but not too stressful. It's is a crime that ABA controls it in this country, I doubt that Sid even really wants it. Would be nice if there was another national field organisatoin who controlled it.
Anyway we are rebuilding our field and are hoping to run some mixed tournaments there very soon in the future. There are some damn good shooters in ABA right now and it would be great to shoot against them as well as AV shooters.

I know there are plenty of shooters at DVA who would be keen to shoot some mixed events (myself included!).
Maybe we could ditch ABA and shoot IFAA animal, or IFAA field, or IFAA 3D - All great rounds, as well as some FITA stuff, field and or target or both!
Obviously we couldn't shoot all of these rounds at the one shoot, but could certainly alternate, we've got so much scope.:D
There is absolutely no reason why petty association politics should keep us apart, after all - don't we all just shoot arrows :confused

You know the best shoot I ever went to was at Geelong Trophy Bowhunters. It was a 2 day IFAA shoot and they had record rainfall that weekend. The IFAA round was so much fun. There were walkups, fans, 73m shots. Just great. The target was easy to aim at and a 20 point target was possible. My only complaint with IFAA is that the IFAA indoor {*b}can{b*} make you lazy if you let it. Otherwise they are the best rounds in the world next to traditional FITA rounds. (not these new fangled Olympic rubbish!)
