Just reviewed thru Mastering archery as I find usefull to do once in a while and notced that on the pics Clint Freeman dont use the nose as an extra ref point in his form Does not seem to influect his shooting in any bad way though 8)

Found myself to be more consistent when changing from having the string on the right side of my nose and a longer backstretch, to exacly in the middle of my nose tip and the release hand 1 or 2 cm moved forward
(knucles resting on my jaw(chew?) bone

Probably not a great deal but???..........

Good comments Harald. For a compound I don't worry about having the string touch the archer's nose or not. Better to have your head nicely upright, the line of force passing through your string arm elbow, and let the string be wherever it happens to be in relation to your nose. The peep makes sure everything will be ok.

JP, I just been reading your 2 books ove and over again :o . I think I'm going to wear the pages down :D . I've been making some changes to my form to be more upright and no longer make contact with my nose anymore but it seems like I can't get a consistent anchor anymore. I my game went down the drain.

I must mention that I have also change the size of my peep. I used to shoot a 3/64th and now shoot a 1/8th. Just needed extra light. Also now I line up my circular pin guard with the peep and see all my pins. Before I used to center my pin of choice in the peep and could only see one pin at a time. The reason I'm doing it this way now, is because I'm in the process of buying a target sight and scope and hope to use it that way.

I could use a few tips here. Anyone is welcome to comment also :D

P.S.: I have a few more questions since reading the books but I will try to space them out :D

NockOn,
1/8" is quite a large peep diameter and it would not surprise me if you would see multiple pins through it. I assume you must be shooting in quite dark conditions to need to go that large? Should not be a problem with a scope, however, so long as you are careful to centre it.
In "Mastering Compound Bows", have a close look at the pictures of Clint Freeman, our current World Target Champion - you will see that he does not have the string touching his nose and that his head is beautifully upright.
Note that when using a peep, your anchor point will move up and down as you change distances (it will be a little lower for long distances compared to short distances). This means that, as distinct to a recurve bow where your anchor will be consistent as you change distances, you will not always have an identical anchor for a compound, it simply must vary because of the geometry. The key is to always be careful to centre the pin in the peep and to have some part of your string hand sitting against your face (even though its exact position will vary as you change distances).

JP, yes the lighting situation is terible when we shoot indoors. Floor is black and ceiling is brown so the light doesn't spread very good :(
But then again we can shoot up to 70 meters 8) so can't complain there.

In the next day or so I'm finally ordering my CJ ANTS and Titan scope. So I guess I'll be able to go down a size or 2 on the peep. Is it best to center the pin, dot and/or ring in the peep or to center the scope housing in the peep?

I definetly felt more steady when I used to use a small peep and centering one pin in the peep.
