Well, I've ordered a set of Doo Sungs. :o

I got the 500 spine because thats what the chart says and I have been shooting 500ish spines for a while without too many hassles.

What you guys have been saying about them being durable better be true!!!! :x

$390 is a lot of money to have break on me!! Mind you, I have to accept rule no. 1....

I'm sure you'll enjoy your Doo Sungs mike, they do seem to be an excellent target arrow :D

Well, got them today!!!

cut them at 28 inches and after matching heaviest point to lightest shaft etc I came up with a max variation of 0.3 grain between arrows (of course that is before glueing in points and putting on fletches etc)

Very impressed with that!! :)

I have fletched them with standard 2 inch spin wings. Using the doo sung nock, but I want to see if a Beman over nock fits (not sure if any of the beman sizes do) the diametre of these shafts is 5.3 mm.

The weight is suprising -- they come in at 7.47 grains per inch, is that lighter or heavier than say a 520 ACE?

I have put the full 110 grain point in (they are actually 108 grains).

I just used the hotmelt glue that came with the points, does anyone have better ideas? Do the points stay in with this glue in people's experiences?

Total arrow weight is 338 grains i think... if thats true then the speed from my bow should be just under 270 fps, which is ok for target.

NOW I HAVE TO SEE IF I CAN SHOOT THEM INTO THE TEN!!

The real litmus test... :-?

Should be fine for unmarked too.
I've been using the supplied hotmelt on mine and none of the points have come out yet.
I still have not had rule number 1 effect them yet.

Hey Mike, from what i,ve seen I dont think durability will be a peoblem, I shot mine today for the first time and of 8 arrows I have only 2 left with nocks intact, If these were aces From experience I feel sure there would be at least 1 or 2 of them cracked. Cheers

Hey Mike,

Your DooSungs (soon to be called Cartel Triple) at 7.47gn/inch seem to be about .87gn/inch heavier than an ACE 520. So at 28 inches your around 24 grains heavier.

Not too much to worry about really if your not into unmarked full time, in fact the heavier shaft for you shooting mostly marked target probably is an advantage... :D

Damm good arrows.

You will be happy, they are VERY VERY tough and VERY accurate.

Congratulations you just saved $200.....which is what you would have paid for setting up the equivalent set of ACE's

yes i have 12 cartels and i am on my third packet of cartel nocks! i use teflon tape round the arrow shaft to hold them on or they pop off when arrow hits target. watch out though the nocks develop cracks in them wether it from shooting tight groups or just absorbing 0-200 fps acceleration i can't tell ya but even at national indoor i put one arrow up the bum of another and i pulled the broken nock off and put on another and kept shooting it. they are very tough and durable.

Well they seem to work at this point!! Fingers crossed.

I am using Easton G-Nocks straight into the back of the shaft. I had to sandpaper them down a bit to get them to fit but this at the moment seems like a good system. I am deeply skeptical of the value of the pin nock system as I have not see it save ACEs any better than any other system and at the price of the pin nock, I cannot see a good reason to bother. G-nocks are at least inexpensive in comparison.

Why did you decide against using the Beiters? I've had excellant results with Beiters with other shafts.

Just wondering.

Mike
I'm thinking of trying the G nocks too. Seems easier than the pins and they are a more consistant nock anyway.

Marty
Beiters are terrible nocks. Well made, but on every arrow I've tried they are the worst for protecting teh shaft. On ACE's and ACC's I robin hooded almost every arrow I hit teh nock of. On my Carbon Techs I Robin hooded the first arrow I shot with them. They do nothing to deflect the arrow. Really not a fan. Also on the Doo Sung they are rather sung on the string.

Have you had the same problems with Beiter insert nocks as you have had with the outserts? Just curious.

I've had great results with the Beiter in-out nocks on ACEs.

When you shave down the g-nocks, do you do this by hand or do you use a jig of some kind?

I havn't tried the in-out nocks yet, however Roger Cripps from Hobart swears by them so I'll take his word that they are a good nock.

Nothing fancy, just use a small file to get most of the material off, then fine sandpaper to finish them. Use one of the shafts to continually test for fit.
Seems to work...
