i got an older bow from my grandfather, its ssays bear on it. what i need to know is how (or even can i) make the lbs less? its at 60 right now and sence i dont plan on killing any deer anytime see, just targets, i would like to lower it if i can. i would love any help or words of wisedom. i know hardly anything about archery and its hard to find good info online. all the websites i can find are co. selling bows.

Usually there are some bolts that hold the limbs onto the riser. Undoing those will drop the weight of the bow. However go too far and your bow will explode (won't hurt it, but may hurt you)
I recommend you join a local archery club to learn more about compound shooting and tuning before you play around too much.

I have to agree with Marcus, join a club and get some coaching. Any other course may lead to injury to you or others.
Bottom line, enjoy it !
