Thanks Marcus :)

Mike13 - we shot a FITA indoor round scoring inner ten ring for the compounders. I shot 284, and a 291 on inner ten for a 60 arrow score of 575.

The first round (284) would have been a 298 14x, and the second round (291) would have been a 300 21x if we were scoring on the normal ten ring (ie an Aust Indoor round)

That's what Marcus was referring to

I found it amazing how much easier it was to shoot (outer) tens whilst solely concentrating on the X indoor! The FITA indoor round realy is a killer, but I think it's great stuff :)

Thanks to Marcus for organising a great Christmas shoot! Looking forward to the Target event tomorow :bday:

Cheers,

Luke.

Oh yeah sorry Mike, should have made that clear.

Karina (clash) had a mosnter day too, however 17 straight 9's in the indoor round cost her quite a few points. That was with Triples.
Should be an interesting battle tomorrow between
CMB50 (Cameron) 724
Clash: 720
Flex: 718
Alan Carter: 715

I'll have to work hard to not let those guys catch me, and at the same time try and make those points back on Luke.

Was not happy at all with my 3D round today and really could have used some telegraph poles for the indoor.

Oh well, will just have to shoot a 900 90x tomorrow.............. :o

Your club and interstate will be the only place you will shoot the FITA indoor.

I couldn't get any seconder to put a change from Aussie to FITA indoor on the table at the AV meeting.
We live in our own world in VIC.

Change is coming I think..But not from where it should.. :(

Are you going to be able to make up to DVA in the new year Flame?

After all seems no one at GA will be busy shooting arrows

Sorry couldn't resist...

Marcus

Yep, it's getting to the point where AV State Titles are losing their validity thanks to their pathetic inability to recognise anything from outside Victoria.
Disgusting. We should get a refund on our AV fees, afterall I join AV to shoot FITA, not AV's own rules.

Can clubs affiliate with AA directly?

Can clubs affiliate with AA directly?

I think 1.4.1 in AA Rules implies only RGBs can be members of AA..... :-?

Final results are up
The Top 10 scores for the weekend were
Archer, 3D, Indoor, Sht Canberra, Total

Luke Eberbach, 190, 575, 884, 1649
Marcus Anear, 181, 557, 865, 1603
Karina Marshall, 171, 549, 868, 1588
Mal Marshall, 168, 550, 862, 1580
Cameron Brewer, 171, 553, 852, 1576
Alan Carter, 169, 546, 859, 1574
Colin Carter, 153, 534, 876, 1563
Nicole Pless, 135, 542, 824, 1501
Faye Waterman, 142, 540, 816, 1498
Alan Loy, 126, 530, 1448

Luke shot a 300 for the 30m range of the FITA. This really was his shoot, just flat chat killed us all. Colin had an awesome day in the Canberra and was sneaking on Luke a bit. Karina also had an incredible weekend too, she was a few targets way from the top 4 Men so we didn't see her sneak up on us.

Thanks everyone for shooting, it was a fun format, hope you all enjoyed it.

Thanks to everybody involved in this wekend's shooting and festivities!

The shooting was great - great conditions for both days really let us have some enjoyable shooting.

An awesome format - great to see three vastly different disciplines used in our Christmas shoot :bday: Really celebrates our clubs diversity  I love it!

After a huge weekend I'm buggered :D Early night tonight

Well i spat the dummy properly today. The day started very badly (****ing police) and got worse. Couldn't hit anything for starters, the release aid let go on me (not sure if it was me or the release aid for sure though) at half draw and promptly smacked myself square in the nose. Just couldn't get my game together mentally after that. Might have to make myself a test case for the Psychology thread! :o
Luke had his game together all weekend though and proceded to make the rest of us (well me at the very least) look silly. Well done dude.

Huge thanks to Marcus for organising it and for everyone who participated. Good weekend.

Whereabouts? On the road into DVA? (So I know next time I drive to DVA as I have been known to go just a bit faster than 80 along there).

CMB50
14-12-2003, 08:54 PM
The speed limit on the road DVA is on is 70. Don't speed along there as there is always either a white or green Hyundai (i think) 4WD with a speed camera!

No got done by one of the new multi-colored 'highway patrols' on Plenty Rd in epping.

Sherbrooke has its Club Championships on Sunday. Just about like a State Championship with Bryce, Leigh, Mike and Zoe to compete with!! For once I managed not to tie with Bryce but to finish one point ahead (had to get my last 22 arrows in the 10). Leigh decided one of my arrows in the last end had just touched the 10, otherwise we would have had yet another tie which Bryce would have won on countback (he had more 10's).
At 40M Bryce used his huge field arrows, Leigh his large Safari's, and I shot my X10's - with the big arrows we had a bit of trouble fitting them all in the 10 ring. We managed to kill one of Bryce's arrows (he got it), we destroyed a few of Leigh's fletches, and my mates finished off two of my nocks. Leigh gave away a few points trying to pick-off Bryce's arrows on the edge of the 10 during one end. We totally destroyed a target face. Quite a bit of fun. Our scores were ok, but not as high as they should have been.

Shooting with Luke and CMB50 we had the ame problem. One end at 40m we shot 179/180 with 10 X's and 5 just out of the X. Looked great from the shooting line.

Jim round and scores were shot?

James Park
15-12-2003, 02:22 PM
We shot a FITA 900.
Jim 870
Bryce 869
Leigh 863
Mike about 830
Zoe about 820
One end at 40M we (Jim, Bryce, and Leigh) had 180 with 13 X's (significant challenge fitting that many arrows in the X-ring when Bryce and Leigh were shooting monster arrows).
None of us scored well enough at 60M, the other distances were better.

Marcus
15-12-2003, 02:34 PM
Going by the ratings system between the 2 clubs then

Jim: 101.5
Bryce: 101
Luke: 100
Leigh: 98
Colin: 95
Alan W: 92
Karina: 91
Marcus: 89
Mal: 88
Sten: 87
Alan C: 86.5
Mike: 86
Cameron: 84
Zoe: 83

Good mix between clubs there, DVA still has some catching up to do though. :(

James Park
15-12-2003, 02:44 PM
Bryce vs Jim on Sunday:
- After 60M: Jim 1 up (282 vs 281)
- After 50M: all square (291 vs 292)
- After first end at 40M: Bryce 1 up (59 vs 60)
- After second end at 40M: Bryce 1 up (58 vs 58 )
- After third end at 40M: all square (60 vs 59)
- After fourth end at 40M: Jim 1 up (60 vs 59)
- After 40M: Jim 1 up (297 vs 296) (60 vs 60)
I recall that last year we did it just about identically.
As usual, in a tie I would have lost (Bryce has beaten me four times to nil in ties).

Interesting stat that one. Shows he groups better, but shoots more outside the gold than you do. (58 with an 8 beats 58 with 2 9's)

Some more (accurate  ) scores from the weekend:

Zoe 837
Mike 823 (quite appalling, but a good recurve score!)
