Are they any good? I am purchasing my first bow and it will only be used for hunting.

Flipper rests are very good if you release with your fingers. release aids need launcher style rests. Sometimes the wire can break in the scrub, so if you use a flipper rest it would pay to have a spare(s) and an allen key. You can pre-make spare wire support arms very cheaply by buying a one metre length of stainless steel wire of the right guage from hobby shops that sell model aeroplanes. For a finger shooter, its hard to go past a good quality flipper rest.
