I have just emailed Melb Uni Sport to see what they would think of supporting an archer to the Nats. Its a water tester really, but that said, I'd be more than happy to wear their colours for a small fee! :D

Has anyone else had experience with this kind of thing? One of the things I said was that Melb Uni doesn't have a Archery club but that it probably won't because we are well enough serviced by the clubs outside uni.

So, if you see me in Melbourne University stuff at the nats, chances are I didn't pay for it!! :D

We once got a hundred dollars or so towards David's Junior National costs by writing to the local council. There was no obligation to do anything except notify them of the results after the event.

I use to do what Clare did every year as a junior. first year got $200, then $300 then $600.
It is worth while contacting as many as possible though.
When I did sales training the guy running it said "Go ask 100 girls to sleep with you, if only 1 says yes, it was a success" same with sponsorship.

So this is where you get your impeccable moral fibre!

You can also try the RSL's and other service clubs.

When one of my sons was going overseas to play soccer, a few years ago, we approached the local RSL, and they handed a cheque for $400.

There are hundreds of opportunities out there, ...........if you go looking.

Another good one is the Lions and Apex Clubs.
