G'day , I have been an archer on and off for the last 3 years and quite often suffer from tennis elbow after a good days shoot. I would appreciate any info on preventing or relieving this problem . thanks :D

Finger or release???

There are a lot of things that you can do to help it. Stretching, massage, bracing/taping, etc. The best thing though is to make sure your form is good. Post some pictures of yourself.

Release... sorry don't have the gear to post pictures but will try strapping
and stretching as you suggested . Also have been told building up the
muscle in the forearm can prevent the problem, taking the strain from the
elbow.

thanks Brad :D

Generally, tendonitis from archery occurs due to the suddenness of the release where muscles are under tension. You then get the muscle bulk move following release and pull on the tendons.
For the bowarm this is readily dealt with by using a straight arm rather than a bent arm.
For the string arm it is a little more challenging. You need to think abot which muscles you are using and only use the ones essential to holding back the bow and operating the release. I would try that first, and see if you have some muscle tension you do not really need.
One consolation is that tendonitis usually only happens if you are using the release properly!!
