I just purchased the Mathews SQ2 and am having some problems.

The first problem is that I have tried both the removable and two-piece non-removable quivers made by Mathews called the "arrow web". These quivers mount and hold the arrows with the nocks extending out past the bottom cam about 4 inches. This in essence adds 4 inches to the overall lenght of the bow which was a primary reason for choosing this bow. I also noticed on Mathews web site that these quivers were not intended for the SQ2. (why would the archery shop put this on) So what quiver should I use for the SQ2?

The second problem (and most serious) is I am using the Timber Ridge Matrix sight which has the verticle mounted sight pins and tooless adjustment. I am also shooting a 100gr Steel Force broadhead with Gold Tip carbon arrows. Due to the fact that the SQ2 is much more compact than my previous Hoyt Magnatech, the bleeder blade of the broadheads narrowly misses the bottom frame of the sight by about 3/16". I have tried everything including lowering the sight pins as far as possible to raise the sight frame but to no avail. I have tried using the lower 3 pins for my 20 - 30 and 40 yard pins which will raise the unit up to clear the broadhead by 1/2" but am sacrificing my 50 and 60 yard pin.

Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance.

Hey muscle the quiver problem is puite common in todays world of ultra short hunting bows, in some cases the bows are as short or shorter than the archers draw length which makes it impossible to keep the arrows within the the length of the bow, if you feel your setup is unsatisfactory you should take it back to your dealer. With regards to your sight clearance can you change your anchor to accommodate a higher peep position, this will enable you to rail your sight higher giving you more broadhead clearance, Hope this helps.

Not without chancing my shooting style all together. The sight manufacturer is aware of this problem and their only solution is to go to a 3-pin sight. bummer.

Back to the quiver...

I would think Mathews is also aware of this problem. The statement they say about not using the quivers on the SQ2 is suspicious. I've been all over their site and havent found any other type of quiver for this bow. :-?

Yes the bow is 31" axle to axle and my arrow length is 28" Does anybody know of a better quiver solution or theSQ2?

What about a quicver that fully attaches to the sight bracket? Such as the detachable one piece quiver. That looks like the right thing there.

I am for anything that is made well and solves the problem. I ordered the Soft-Loc quiver made by Alpine and will try it out to see if I like it. Any reviews on this quiver?
