Does anyone know where I could get a list of Australian Broadheads from?
ie Tusker, Ribtek, Outback, Weatherstone etc Any others and suppliers?
Thanks,
Mike

I have always used ribteks but have been looking at outbacks.
Does anyone have an opinion on them?

I use to be a hard core ribtek user but I had to work the b/heads to fly true you know spin check and all that. Then Brad told me about outback's got some off woody and tried them out. Man I sold fly just like a f/point every time and tuff punched a pig down between the shoulders through the spin and took out the heart I can't pull the arrow of him so I did cut open to retrive to find that the supreme was still in the spin and it was the front halve of the b/head that did the job all I could do so unsrew the shaft a leave the b/head behide I'm just trying his new design and have to say they to fly great I push 30" 2315's at 250 fps and with woody's heads you can't tell the difference in the group as to which arrow has a b/heads on it and which one a f/point until you pull them out
hope this helps

Stick with the outbacks. They fly the truest you'll get and they are tough.
I've shot everything from rabbits to camels with them and haven't had a problem at all. They're the only broadheads that i will use.
I've just got some of the new ones and so far they are as good as the originals for flight. The extra width should make them even more lethal.
First shot with them on Wed night, dropped a fox on the spot!!!
The best thing about them is that you can practice all you want with field points and then just screw them out and put the outbacks on with the confidence that they will fly the same. No need to have 2 sets of sights or keep resetting your sights to hunt with.

Brad
are u fair dinkum?everyone i have tried shoots two inches to the right of field points.
When you consider the fact that your arrow is (should be) spinning...why would a broahead make it plane consistently to the one side???

If the arrow is spinning they would not cause the arow to plane, but since they are 5 grains heavier than a field point they would alter the FOC weight and alter the spine of the arrow.

Vasilene helps..... for penatration
Vaseline is also a coagulant, not recommended for blood trails
There is no substitute for appropriate kinetic energy and a bloody sharp broadhead

Coach,
May I ask you a question? Which Tusker broadhead are you using that weighs under 130 grains ( screw in broadhead adaptor included)
Usually, give or take 5 grains makes very little difference, but a hit to the right generally indicates an underspined arrow. If 5 grains has a noticeable effect, I think a slightly stiffer arrow may be desirable.
How about saying what draw length, poundage and arrow type you use, recurve, longbow, compound (cam type etc) and then, if you wish, I can offer you some suggestions for achieving field point accuracy.
I assume that you have paper tuned your 125 grain fieldpoint arrows to achieve that perfect bullet hole tear. It's not possible to expect great broadhead flight if your fieldpoint arrows aren't tuned to perfection.
If you are unhappy with the Outback Supreme or the new Outback Hunter, send them back to me and I will refund your purchase price. I can't be fairer than that. Best regards,

Outback Broadheads
Coach as Woody said I'd check my arrow spine first. What distance are you getting the 2 inch difference??
Let us know what set up you're using.
I'm shooting a 2003 ultratec at 31" and about 80lbs. I'm using Eston Axis 300 arrows. I was shooting 29.5" and using beman ICS 340's and having great flight too.
Also, I don't mean to be rude, but could it be your form that's letting you down when your practicing with them?
I honestly believe that these are the best broadheads around.

Coach,
The Tusker Spirit broadhead, from looking at John Teitzals web site, are 100 grains, plus 32 grains for broadhead adaptor insert, plus the weight of araldite glue. I reckon thats at least 130 grains.
If your spine on arrows is very marginal, causing right hits, a simple check would be to wind off half a turn of bow draw weight. this should give 60 pounds on your bow.
2 pounds less, probably wont affect your paper tune much, but should correct where your broadheads are hitting. In any case, it's a quick cheap experiment which may help. If it fixes broadhead point of impact, check your paper tune again with field points.
If your field point tune is still ok, no worries, if not, it wouldnt be a big contract to put your draw weight up or down half a turn as required. I hope this helps, and I'd be interested to know how you go. What style of broad head you use is a personal decision, but we owe it to the game we hunt to be as accurate as possible, best regards,
