Noel had a great idea of having archer profiles on our site here. This is something I'ld love to have and will put together. However to start with I will need your profiles. Australian archers only at the moment please. You don't have to be a super star to be profiled, just an archer.
Details I want are

archer_name
location
Division (include disipline such as FITA, 3D hunting etc)
years shooting
career highlights
sponsors
equipment used (bow, arrows, sight, scope, stabilisers, spotting scope, rest, everything)
interest notes (have you achieved in other sports, done something interesting etc)
photo

Once I get a few I will put them up. Please contribute to this, juniors too. It helps us build recognition in our sport. Thanks

Agree, all should send them in. The top 10 posters on this forum all should be there. That means particularly the likes of Malynn and Teelow...

Marcus, just get Pauls off the BAB site, and given a bit of work I'm sure you could do wonders for his image....or not :P

What about all these 'famous' seppos and canadians????

Will the real Clever_guy please stand up....

Mike sent me mine.

Mine is coming, I can't find my medals box after I moved, once I do I'll post my profile, just want to get some details right.
I'll post em up in next few days, I was shooting tonight so couldn't do it.

Thanks everyone for posting em to me. I've added em all so far. Mine is added too. Just been tearing my garage apart after my old medals etc and after major frustration found em in a box on my office shelf, about 2 feet from my computer. Go figure!

As for Paul's image, I did the work on the image originally, it was weeks of toil getting it to look that good!! He should be thankful, I removed 30kgs off him in it!!

Marcus,

Do you have a special script for making the profiles, or do you make them yourselves? If you have a script running for it, would it be possible that the archers make their own profiles?

As being a webmaster I'm still in search for a script that does the above and is free to use :)

Except for this forum, which uses PHPBB, everything else is hand coded by me using Lasso 5 and mySQL as the database. In this case I enter the data directly into the database and it is searched and retrived by my code. That includes the shopping cart and postal shoot systems.

I did not want to create the ability for users to manage their own profiles in this case because it's a fair bit of work to build the log in and update systems etc etc. I did it on the DVA site some time ago (as some may remember) but really didn't like it as much.
So yes it is scripted, but it's using a middleware, not a PERL or CGI script, which I don't use on anything.

Thanks for asking.

Hey c'mon Robbo, don't be crazy...just tell us about yourself.

...just tell Marcus when you win the state title, and he'll be happy to add it

What about your kids? Send me their profiles if you like. Just cause they don't post doesn't mean we can't promote them.

how do I go about it and what sort of info do I include?

The info needed is in the first post of this thread, or use the existing ones as samples. Then you can PM them to me or email them to marcus@archery-forum.com
