I am in the market for a GPS.
Can anyone recomend a good one on a value for dollar basis?
Thanks.

I have a little Garmin e-trex GPS.

It is not a bad unit, small, water proof, loads of functions, easy to use, bla bla bla.

I paid $300.00 for it three years ago, and it still works fine.

I think it represents good value for money if you only want a mid range GPS.

Your biggest hurdle will be deciding which unit to buy, there are so many types on the market.

Most European models come with, included in the purchase price, a BMW or Mercedes Benz, but you can hardley fit them in a back pack.

Happy shopping

I would buy a Garmin, they are they best for the money in my opinion.
