Howdy,

I'm just about to start shootin', and would like to pick up some good books. Not just technical manuals - I find the "mind aspect" (psychological, philosophical, etc.) of archery very fascinating. Or rather, I imagine it to be, as I really don't have a clue... yet! :D

Here are some books I found at Amazon.com, that looks quite interesting. Let me know what you think (if you've read them), and feel free to bring forth additional suggestions.

Archery Anatomy: An Introduction to Techniques for Improved Performance (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0285632655/qid=1077482726/br=1-14/ref=br_lf_b_14//103-0997388-7636634?v=glance&s=books&n=16534)

Bow and Arrow: The Comprehensive Guide to Equipment, Technique, and Competition (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0811724115/qid=1077482726/br=1-3/ref=br_lf_b_3//103-0997388-7636634?v=glance&s=books&n=16534)

Precision Archery (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0736046348/qid=1077482726/br=1-10/ref=br_lf_b_10//103-0997388-7636634?v=glance&s=books&n=16534)

Understanding winning archery by Al Henderson
Maybe the best archery book you will ever read has something for the elite archer and the mere learner. I have read this book 30 times and always find something good for me or a student.
Very hard to get but in the USA they are doing a reprint of it, have a look at the US archer or contact USA arco they should be able to help out.Cheer

I agree whole heartedly. Eventhough the book might be a bit dated, 1st printing 1983, there is some excellent stuff in it.

I would also recommend Rick McKinney's book "The Simple Art of Winning", which IMHO is one of the best and most comprehensive archery books presently on the market. I would definitely recommend it over Precision Archery.

Robin Hood... Earl of Locksley

Not recomended... the bloke was clearly over esteemed...

Was nothing but a scoundrel and a scumbag stealing from the poor rich people....

Didn't even have his own compound..
