View Full Version : Posting an Image

Want to post a picture to the Classifieds? (or another part of the site)

The Image upload feature has been taken offline for now as it was costing me a fortune.

To post an image upload it to your own web space that should have come with your internet account

Then you can enter the URL to the image
for example

[img]http://www.internetprovider.com/~youraccount/image.jpg

If you do not have an internet web space account then you will have to wait for the new version of PHPBB that should have upload abilities. No idea when it's out.
Make sure you have clicked the 'Log me in automatically' box when you log in.

EVERYONE ELSE

Please no more posting of non-archery related photos to my server via the 4Sale.lasso page. This costs me money and every bull**** photo of 2Dogs or Old Dog is wasting my resources. Any more abuse of this service and it's gone for good.

thanks

So that link on the lasso sight that shows you the photos that you posted.....it doesn't work.

If it does, I can cull out all the errors

Better still I found another site to host them........."Archery Australia"...they just don't know it :P

Well all you need is a server to host the files...........and most ISP's give you a 5-10mb home page.

all you do is setup a simple one page site and DL the pictures to it.....then get the URL of it and post it to AF.

As for putting them on AA's site........ that's secret

I have read the posts, but can't understand how others are posting images.
I posted an image a while ago, no problems, using the instructions at the start of this thread and OK.
How are people posting images now, there must be a secret society of AF with the correct secret handshake to be allowed to post images.

Marcus

They are uploading them to their own websites provided by their ISP then linking from there

Marcus

If you pay Marcus big $ you get to post :D

The secret handshake is when he is counting his money :D

PAY, nah us archers are a bunch of tight ars*s. I rarely even pay compliments.

Marcus I'll wait until you fix up the link or whatever computer stuff you need to do. I might be a tight ar*e but I'm patient.

Contact your ISP Lyle and ask them about setting up your own little homepage. Just about all ISP's give you some free space.

PS....just don't tell Noel how to do it :D

Hey, photobucket.com is also a great site to store pix at (and it's free). Don't get me wrong, I'm not advertising here :p I've just tried it and post all my pictures to the forums I visit from there - thought this info might be useful for others, too :)

pichold.com is also a good one. 8)
i dunno about photobucket, but pichold will host your image for about 2 weeks and then it gets removed.
and it provides you with copy and paste syntax for the boards so your not getting it wrong.
