Finally AA have triples in it's shaft selection ! about time Perry ;)

Took long enough didn't it.

The guy who owns Cartel, Dall Lee doesn't speak a word of English.

I understand that has been the cause of all the problems.

I remember reading Perry and the guy that does TAP bitch about the cartel spine thingy, anyhow all we need is for Perry to ad in the vector pins and we'll be right huh :)

Interesting to note we finally have some "easton" spine values for the triples.

The 400 - .435
......500 - .504

Not as weak as some guessed

Spine value for Triple 600 - around .600? :o

Nope 600 = .525

Arrow Spine
300 394
400 435
500 504
600 525
700 601
800 664
900 742
1000 841
1100 970

from AA,

From measurements by Limbwalker on Sagg:

Anyway, here's what I got on the Triples tonight...

Triple series#......Easton spine
300.....................420" (420)
400.....................540 (540)

700.....................680 (680)
800.....................735 (735)
900.....................840 (840)
1000...................900 (900)

I didn't have access to the 500 and 600 series, and the 1100 and 1200 series were too short (under 28") to test on my spine tester!

Not exactly in agreement (although there are no error estimates).

The AA values are quoted to 0.001" which seems extra ordinarily precise
and apart from the 500 value is nearly a perfect parabola within 0.01":
Unweighted Quadratic fit: y = a + bx + cx^2

a = 3.7426824e+2

BTW a linear fit is not bad for Limbwalkers data, given the expected measurement errors, say

I'd go with Perry's.

He's as fanatical with his maths as you are :D, but I know he relies on his data from the factories and that's the reason it has taken so long to get that info out of Cartel...."No speaka De Eglesh"

Shoot him an email about it, he's good with replies. He might explain where or how he got his info.

Must be time for an update to Accurate Sights soon too!

OK, it could be either, but definitely not both.

I'm going to measure my Cartel 400s and see for myself :)

The Easton spine is suspending the arrow between two supports at 28"
apart, and hanging a 880 gram weight between them and measuring the deflection in inches? Talk about madness in mixed units  Why not 2lb exactly and keep it all imperial at least??

The spine (stiffness) of the 29" shaft is defined as the measured deflection (in inches) that results from hanging a 1.94 lb. (880gram) weight from the center of the shaft that is supported at two points 28" (71.12 cm) apart

Cant remember where I did the same calcs but it was on this forum about a year ago. I measured the Triple 500s using the Easton method and came out with 505. So it seems that I wasn't far off. Cant remember the thread.

I misquoted myself:

As it happens, my set of arrows therefore works out to have a spine as per the Easton/AMO standard of 880grams suspended midway b/w points 28 inches apart of 501 +- 20. That is, my arrows vary from a 480 spine to a 520 spine.

Actually I retired my X10's this weekend.

I shoot the Triples far better then any set of X10's, and can get almost two sets for the price of one.

Yeah! Well actually I was banging nails into the cupboard. But I removed them.

I have since recovered from the beatings.... :D

2Dogs I'm interested,
have you tried the Navigaters, compared to Triples?

If so do you find any difference?

I'am also thinking about moving away from my X10s.

Well as the 400 triple is comparable to the 430 Nav, there is quite a bit of difference in the diameter between the two.

I like the Triples over the Nav's these days because the NAvs' are still near $290 a dz.....and Triples are closer to $200

Where do you get triples for $200???
