I know there are instalation problems with the software but will this ever be resolved?
I, (and probably many others) despite the fact it may fail would really like to try the program. Is this possible?
James?..........

Larry,
Because of the Microsoft problems I am taking it on a case-by-case basis. That is: pay if it loads properly. Not much more I can do than that given the peculiarities of Windows. I can email the files to people if desired.
Not that I see many problems: for most people it is just fine and works beautifully. It is the occassional case (perhaps one in a hundred) where it simply will not load properly that is my concern. I have looked careful at some of those and they have not been easily solvable, and too difficult for a general sales approach.

What Error are you talking about.

I recently loaded it onto my laptop, and got some wierd error (that I forgot about). I just went back to using it on my desktop.

2Dogs,
The challenge is that on the rare PC it simply does not load correctly, or gives errors that are simply impossible code-wise.
On most PC's it installs perfectly and works well. Program-wise it is exactly Microsoft VB code and loader, with the latest Microsoft updates, so not much I can do about it. I have taken the code where we have had a problem and easily and without any issues installed it on other PC's.
Hence my current approach.

I have installed AS on my laptop with no issues. I think that you may find that this is the all too common issue of .dll versioning conflicts or the like. I have often seen VB applications give weird issues when installed across a wide range of OS Versions/installed software combinations.

I think that's Jim's approach is certainly the most trouble free for users and new users wanting the software need to know that there are many using the software trouble free and that it is not the app that is at fault.

As a suggestion, have you submitted the generated errors to MS (and yes they can actually be helpful sometimes) or VB coding usergroups ?? I have been involved in a couple of development projects where this assisted in ironing out some bizarre errors. Per my discussion with you on my install Jim, could be a previously unencountered or allowed for combination of factors causing the error and the user groups are a great source to debug it if you can get specifics to them.
