Does anyone know the difference between the Easton A/C/E VRS stabilizer and the Easton Black MAX?

Is one heaver than the other ... better than the other ... more versatle than the other???

Thanks, Jim

ACE Rods are lighter and resonate higher. They tend to suit recurves more than compound bows. Some people like em on compounds, I've shot a few, my wife uses one on hers. However it is a try before buy.

I'm shooting the Black Max right now on my UltraTec. Reason is that the weights fit on the front or the back of the rod. I like weight at the riser not out the front, so I have 2 weights at the back and one out front. I can swap one to the front if I want. It also seems to have something inside of it too.

With stabilizers, goto the shop and try em all first. You might be amazed which ones work best.

....best advice you'll ever hear, what works for one archer may or may not work for another, and you'll be blown away by the different feel with different stabilisers. Try as many as you can until you find one that works best with you and your bow :)

...for me it's the Kudlacek Genisis 5 start multi rod. This stabiliser has been wonderful on both my AccuTec and my CyberTec.

Thanks for the reply Marcs.

My problem is there are no pro shops (or any shops for that matter) within 100 miles from where I live so I don't have the chance to try things out before I buy them ... hence, all the wonderful people on this forum are the only way I can try things out ;) I do all my shopping on the Internet. Ahhh, technology ...

Thanks, Jim

Another major difference is that the Black Max is an aluminum tube and the ACE is a carbon weave tube. Completely different feel. For me the Black Max gives a more dead feel. Both are good but I prefer the Black Max and it is cheaper to boot.

Hi Luke,

I've heard a lot of good things about the Genisis 5 star. I sorta have my desicion down to either the Genisis 5 star or the Easton Black MAX. I wish I knew where I could try each one of them out (without driving all day to get there  )

As Marcus stated, the Black Max is nice because you can shift the weight easily from the end to the riser side. I also have Beiter stabilizers which are very good but I have not located a source for a weight to fit between the riser and the stabilizer. Needs to be a couple of ounces with 5/16" stud on one side and 5/16" threaded hole on the other. I like most of the weight at the riser and not much weight on the end of the stabilizer.

I would say that you will get the results required from either a Kudlachek or Ron's Rods (which is what I will be selling here). Rods like the Black Max work on some bows and not others. I know about 5 other people using the Black Max on UltraTecs so you should be fine with it.
