Ten Easton ACE 520's for sale.
These ten are from the original matched set of twelve arrows and are in quite good condition after only having been shot for around six months.
The arrows are cut at 27 inches (685mm) actual shaft length not including the nock, or points/ inserts.
The arrows come with ACE G-small nocks, and 39gn inserts, and 31gn screw in bulge points.
Nine of the ten are fletched with FFP175 vanes, the tenth has no vanes and was the bare shaft.
All this can be yours for $100 bucks! :) (AUD)

Yes, Luke, it is a very good deal. If they were longer you would have a sale (mine are 700mm).

Surely 685mm isn't that short
I know, with the change from this hot deal, you can buy an overdraw so you can use them
$100 for ten ACE's is a fraction of new price???

Hi Robbo,
ACE's are without a doubt a lovely arrow and one of the best arows on the market today. They are excellent quality with good tolerances.
They suit field very well, and I shot compound barebow very successfully with ACE's for about three years.
When we shoot field (unmarked) we are after a few things with our arrows.
1: We want them all to be straight. No worries here, ACE's are very straight.
2: We want our set of arrows to all weigh the same. ACE's cover this by only being sold in weight matched sets of twelve.
3: We want the arrows to have good quality components. ACE inserts, screw in bulge points, and G-nocks are wonderful.
4: Durability. ACE's have been canned for their durability, and whilst they are better than some arrow I've shot, they can break easily. I've found the g-small nock protects the arrow better than the g-large nock, but I haven't used pin nocks...perhaps they help more.
5: Weight. ACE's are very light which is great for unmarked field as we make errors when judging distance. The light weight ACE raises our arrow speed and helps us in this regard.
6. Diameter. ACE's are not as thin as X10's, but thinner than the many popular 3D shafts around such as Cheetas or CXL's. A thin arrow will resist wind drift quite well (as will a heavy one), but the fat shafts will cut lines. (although I must admit I've got more than one cut twenty with an ACE :) ).
So IMHO ACE's are the best arrow if you are interested in shooting both target and field, as they make a wonderful compromise with their light weight but thin diameter. For a purely field shaft, hey they are fantastic, but some prefer the line cutting ability of the CXL's, Cheetas, CarbonAeros etc. Lastly, ACE's are expensive, at around $600 AUD made up ready to go...dependin where you get them, so they are not a cheap arrow, whilst you can get field carbons in the Carbon force, or carbonaeros range for just over $100 a dozen.
Hopefully some of this makes sense :D

Thanks to the marvelous computing power of Jim Park's Accurate Sights program, your arrow weight would be as follows:
Easton ACE
Spine: 470
Fletch length: 45mm
Point weight: 90gn
Nock: ACE G-Nock
Shaft Length: 736mm (29")
Total arrow weight: 305gn
Cheers,
Luke.

Thanks Luke
My goldtips weigh about 340 I think. At 305 they be moving. That still gives me 6 grn/#
Do you think 470's would be too stiff for 50# fingers? at 29 inches.
Robbo :P

Yeah, they certainly would be in the ball park. I used to shoot 520's 49lbs with around 27 3/4 draw length at the time. They worked very well out of my Stratus and Stratus Pluses...
For your draw length (29) I'd be saying 470's should be just about right...
The only other option could be if you wanted to go for speed is to shoot the weaker 520's and try to work with an ultra light point (say, 39gn insert+31gn bulge point=70gn) to get the "relative" stiffness. This would bring your arrow weight down to around 281gn. You can go down to as low as 250gn at your poundage without going under the magic 5gn per pound formula, and would see some increase in arrow speed by doing this.
Of course, I'm only suggesting this if the arrows grouped acceptably...no point missing just 'cause you can do it fast :) ...

With the 520's did you use total point weight 70grns at 49#?

I used to shoot 80gn points in my 520's at 49lbs 27 3/4" draw length
