View Full Version : Letting someone sell

It's really bad form to post on someone's thread that their gear is too expensive. Potential buyers would be reading that and waiting for a price drop. If someone is truely interested in buying PM them with an offer. If not leave it be. If you are REALLY concerned about it PM them.
Fair comment Marcus, but surely it's fair to say if they are expensive IF they really are too expensive? Some people won't know how much these things should cost and could be getting ripped off.

Marcus,
I agree. I have at times however felt that someone was selling something way above value, tis easy just to send them a pm that way you will not effect thier chances of sale.
Besides if you dont like the price then make an offer and bargain them down.

Absolutely right.
If you see somebody selling something and think their price is way too high, then PM them to let them know.
Doing it in the forum doesn't help anyone.
And if you're not genuinely interested in buying the gear, and are making a real offer, you got no business posting comments about prices in the forum at all.
I agree entirely...IF you THINK in your opinion that something is being sold for too much a PM is the discreet way to go about letting the seller know...

Also remember that I have seen people slammed for the pricing of gear that would have sold for $200 more in a local shop.
It's OK BTW to haggle in the public bit, however only if you are actually serious about buying the bow.

'It's not worth $800 but I will give you $700' is acceptable in my book because it has an outcome ie right of response by the seller. No $800 it is' or 'lets do $750' proves the bow has a higher value and may acutally encourage higher bids.
The problem is when someone is not making an offer just a comment there is no right of reply by the seller and thats just not fair.
Just my opinion anyways....

I agree with Marcus. it would seem that Australians in this case understand that there is such a thing as manners :fist:
