Would like some feedback from people on a possible return of the Jnr Diamond Pile and if people would be interested in shooting. Fees will be as low as possible.
3 age groups with their distances on a 122cm face:
U12 - 40, 30, 20
U15 - 50, 40, 30
U18 - 60, 50, 40
this will be followed by novelty events while scores are processed.
Would there be enough interest in a tournament such as this? When I started we use to get 30-40 kids compete, they stopped it because they were getting 2-3 entering.

Our U10s Shoot 30,20,10, not sure if the youngest (7) would make 40

If we get anough U10's I might put in an even shorter round for them. 30,20,10 sounds pretty good. Might have a beginners open round too. If you have been shooting less than 3-6 months then you can enter beginners open and shoot 40,30,20.

The main problem is the larger clubs say they have plenty of comps in house. so they dont bother with other clubs comps. when we went to the short range at moorabbin in feb they had lots of people from their club shooting, but you dont see them at any other clubs comps. same gos for sherbroke.
the trick is to get people to attend.
but how?
We have about 20 people going to most of the AV comps.

Well I think one factor is that most comps are aimed at longer range shoots. It seems that most comps are either Adelaide, field or fita events.
It's a shame that clubs don't promote their juniors to attend comps. hey are a great way to meet people, made lots of friends and became a better shooter.
I think clubs need to promote other club's comps a bit more, let the jnr's know one is coming up and what they need to do to prepare.
One reason I want to make it free is to make it easier to decide to go. Anoher thing would be to call clubs and see if they can organise car pooling to get the kids out here.
Geez the State trial had next to no juniors in attendance, everyone in AV should hold their head in shame of that.
