Tough audience.
The content is pretty light, but the site itself (structure, layout, etc) is OK, which means I can find what I want without too much effort (or the empty page where it's suposed to be).
I'm only interested in the results, anyway. And maybe some pics.

Not quite sure how it works but at the moment it looks like
Recurve Men was won by Milad Vaziri Iran with 285 points before
Arshar Petrosyan with 2000 points and Dimitri Sordia had to splitt 3.d with three of himself with 0 points. The rest of them all got 0 points so I guess it must have been mighty windy, or mybe the first two is the only one that have shot yet. Bet's that ranking order gonna change.....

A ranking position of a power of 2 or one more than a power of 2 is not as good as one away from a power of 2. It means that pretty soon you get to shoot against a very high ranked archer.
For example, A ranking of 64 means that you get number 1 straight away. A ranking of 32 or 33 means that 2nd round you get to compete with number 1. A ranking of 16 or 17 means that 3rd round you get number 1. A ranking of 8 or 9 means that 4th round you get number 1.
Now, in order to win the thing you do indeed need to knock off these top archers eventually, but it is best to be away from them as long as possible, so that you get as high a finish as possible, and also so that there is the greatest chance possible that someone else will have a fluke and knock them off.

Coming 9th you shoot against:
56, 24, 8, 1, 4, 2 assuming you win them all ....
Coming 11th you shoot against:
54, 22, 6, 3, 2, 1 again assuming you win them all ....
Depends when you're ready for the top guy....or whether the top ranking round archers are really the top matchplay ones....
...and whether the better ones get knocked out along the way....
...basically there is lots of luck involved wherever you finish, but you need to be shooting very well to just reach the top 8...or have HEAPS of luck! :o

Yes, the Aussie mens team will be ready to duel in Athens. I hope the girls team rises to the occasion also.
I do hope that team Canada does well so that we may get more funding and a more solid programe for the future. :o 8)

The guys beat Kazakhstan in the first team match and are now up against the Ukrainians..... :D
Later: Beat Ukraine, now up against The Netherlands...... I think this is now the semis but the website still has Turkey ranked first with their 6 archers scores, and I can't find the Teams matchplay bracket anwhere!!!
Even later: Beat The Netherlands, now against Turkey in the gold medal match later tonight/early morning tomorrow. :D

well being an aussie and living in The Nederlands I think "we"done well too , sorry to say but when I go to all the out of country archery games I am all dressed up in orange and carrying a dutch flag, but have been known to take an aussie flag also ... people know me well for my messed up hair styles and carrying 2 flags from 2 different sides of the world !
