Does adding limbs saver to the bow effect it in anyway e.g slow it down.

just want to know as my recurve is very noisy. i've tried different bracing heights and strings. but still sounds loud.

If you do put limb savers on, you want a trade off between them slowing the limbs and dampening noise. They will slow the limbs the further to the end they are but they will also stop vibrations quicker...
As is my understanding... :-?

Recurve limb savers have a small effect on power, but nothing to worry too much about. When I added limb savers to my recurve, it moved all my sight markings down by about a tenth of an inch (on a 38lb draw weight). But it was worth it, for the surprisingly large reduction in noise.

Be careful to put them far enough down that the string won't slap against them. And be careful when stringing, as it's very eay to catch them.

I have fitted limb-Savers to several different limbs, with good noise reduction results.
Don't follow the directions on the packet regarding where to fit them, you will lose speed if you do. Fit them about where the limb laminations finish their taper, off the top of my head, that's about 12cm from end of riser. You won't notice any speed loss fitted here.

Are the limb savers fitted to any particular side of the limbs? Does it make a difference if they are fitted facing the archer or facing the target?

The instructions say to put them on the belly of the bow -- i.e. facing the archer. This probably doesn't make a difference to their damping characteristics, but it may prolong the life of the limb savers, since the mushroom "cap" is being pushed into the "stem" at release, rather than being pulled away.

Thanks for the reply. I do not have the sims mushroom shaped limb savers but the Allen Vibration Eliminator. These are squarish pieces of rubber about 1cm thick. They did not come with any instructions and I was wondering if the reccomendation of fitting them to the belly of the bow would still be valid.

Thanks for all the advice.
